Colorado asks DEA to recognize marijuana’s medical value (The RawStory.com) The state of Colorado has become the third in the nation to formally ask the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to reclassify marijuana in such a manner that would recognize its potential for medical value, similar to drugs like morphine and cocaine. Meanwhile Colorado bureaucrats and elected officials work feverishly to destroy business and people's livelihoods: the schizophrenic reality of today's nanny-tyrant state. Indeed, perhaps that is WHY they are seeking legalization of pot: figuring that the more of the public is stoned and incompetent - on pot and booze and reality TV and sex and lotto and sports (an idol for every taste), the easier it will be to rule and ruin. Mama's Note: This isn't about people who want to use cannabis for recreation. It's about serious herbal medicine. Endocannabinoids: Windows to the Brain Katherine H. Taber, Ph.D. and Robin A. Hurley, M.D. Studies of the endocannabinoid system support its importance for multiple aspects of brain function including modulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, regulation of mood, anxiety, and reward, and extinction of fear learning.10,13 It also participates in the immune, cardiovascular, and gastrointestinal systems.9,23 Present medicinal uses of compounds that interact with this system include analgesia, suppression of chemotherapy-induced nausea, appetite stimulant for illness and medication-related weight loss, reducing motor symptoms (e.g., spasticity, ataxia, weakness) in multiple sclerosis, and reduction of intraocular pressure in glaucoma. by Nathan Barton © 2012 "As our president bears no resemblance to a
king so we shall see the
Senate has no similitude to nobles. First, not being hereditary, their
collective knowledge, wisdom, and virtue are not precarious. For by
these qualities alone are they to obtain their offices, and they will
have none of the peculiar qualities and vices of those men who possess
power merely because their father held it before them." --Tench
Coxe,
An American Citizen, No. 2, 1787
Mr. Tench Coxe may have been a great writer, but a prophet he was not. Not only do we today witness the spectacle of the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue taking a “Christmas Vacation” costing the taxpayers a cool $4 million (inflated, admittedly), not only does the “Executive Office of the President of the United States” have a grandiose title, but it has more than 2,500 people and spends about $400 million A YEAR: Louis VIX would be envious. And as anyone who has had the misfortune to be in an urban area where anyone with the title of POTUS or VPOTUS has come to visit in the last 20 years can tell you, the style of travel beggars the imagination – and would make any Ottoman Caliph embarrassed to be compared. (Read the rest here) Ron Paul is truly dangerous By JOSEPH W. McQUAID (New Hampshire Union Leader Publisher) Ron Paul is a dangerous man. While his domestic libertarian views are quite attractive to some voters fed up with politics as usual, it is Paul’s position on issues of our national security that are truly dangerous. If you're a lib-flavored statist, Ron Paul should doubtless make you piss yourself. If you're a conservative-flavored statist, he should make you brown your drawers. If you're ANY kind of statist and you AREN'T afraid of Ron Paul, you aren't paying attention. Ron Paul is America's addiction counselor. He's the walking, talking embodiment of what (OK, most of) the Framers had in mind when they contrived the 'Great American Experiment.' while riding high on opinions, I occasionally run into other people.
Sometimes it’s a minor fender bender, sometimes it’s a head-on
collision and sometimes I drive right over them.
When I wake up the next morning after one of those binges and see what I’ve done, I sometimes regret my actions. Oh, I don’t really care if I see politicians or government officials with tire tracks on their backs. They chose to get deeply involved in an entity that depends upon the threat of violence and they must accept the consequences of playing a direct part in such a system. by Roger Young According to the Declaration of Independence,
when such conditions become intolerable for the people, "it is their
right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide
new Guards for their future security."
But why wait for your state to secede? In the meantime, why not make a personal declaration of secession? Below is my idea of what a personal declaration would look like. I encourage others to make this same declaration and add or subtract any statements you deem relevant. Or write your own. (Read

[Editor's note: I did write my own... a long time ago: I own my life and body. I am the only one responsible for that life and my safety. That's why I carry a gun. No human being has the right, under any circumstances, to initiate force against another human being, nor to delegate that initiation of force. All living creatures have the inherent right to defend their lives and property with any force necessary. That's what I live by. MamaLiberty] by David Codrea
I'm happy to report I have kept last year's
resolution:
I will do something every day to promote and/or defend the right to keep and bear arms. Every day. That's it. What to do? It doesn't matter. Something. Get in the habit. Get in the practice. Ideas will start to come naturally. Every day. If every gun owner made a commitment to doing this, we would have have a very different social and political climate. The Libertarian News Examiner occasionally writes articles belittling the politicized Algorian version of Global Warming and occasionally takes flack for it. So let's examine some of that flackery: Climate Change denial "Climate change" and "global warming" are two different things. The Earth has gone through repeated Ice Ages, interglacial "tropical ages," and virtually every climatic condition in between including the well documented "Medieval Warm Period" and "Little Ice Age." That's proven climate change. (Read the rest here) (Use the back button to return) Features From The Last Issue Also, check out the NEW Freedom Feens forum.
