First Citizen – Abominable Act
Obama: ‘To Implement Affordable Care Act in 2014 … I’ve Got to Win in 2012’
(CNSNews.com)

Well, I agree with him – but even if he loses, if the winner is Romney or Gingrich or Perry, all it does is tweak the implementation of Obummercare and maybe delay it a bit. Still, the First Citizen has demonstrated his ability to ignore the Constitution completely and force or trick everyone into doing really stupid things, so he could be effective at enforcing it – or give viceregal power to someone who will.

Mama's Note: And many millions of people will ignore it and resist it... regardless of who occupies the oval throne.

The Presidential Usurpation of Power Debates
By Robert Greenslade © Nitwit Press

Let’s cut to the quick. I am sick and tired of hearing people get excited over the Republican presidential debates that seem to take place every other day. For the most part, they are a pathetic joke because they only perpetuate the usurpation of power. The general election debates in 2012 will be more of the same.

Under our system of government, the powers of the federal government and the president are defined and limited by the Constitution. You would never know that listening to the questions and analysis by media pundits. What’s next? Asking the candidates if they can use the powers of the federal government to part the Red Sea or resurrect the dead?

The War on You
by Kevin Carson

In the interest of efficiency, I suggest the government consolidate the Wars on Drugs, Terror, and Piracy into a single war: The War on You. That would make things a lot simpler — and a lot more honest.

All these different wars amount to a War on You, because they’re aimed at preventing what the state and its corporate masters regard as the ultimate horror: A world where you’re free to produce and trade peacefully with others, living off the full fruit of your own labor, without having to work twice as hard to feed a gaggle of bureaucrats, usurers, landlords, and other parasitic rentiers in addition to yourself.

The real function of the War on Drugs is to prop up black market drug prices so banks have cartel money to launder and the CIA — the biggest drug cartel of all — has a funding source for black ops when Congress balks at bankrolling a death squad somewhere. And it keeps local police forces rolling in civil forfeiture loot and military surplus weaponry to use against the local population.

What Law Enforcement Thinks of Us
From Popehat

The video tells people that they have a right — a right set forth in the United States Constitution — to remain silent and to refuse to give consent to searches. Taking a page from modern pro-statist “what do you have to hide?” rhetoric, the police say that a typical citizen “would not need to know” such information and that it is intended to “deceive law enforcement.”

Of course, this is utter horseshit. Normal citizens who haven’t done a damn thing wrong get arrested and abused and sometimes tased or shot by police all the time. Law enforcement would prefer that you lie back and take it, that you adopt the unprincipled and insipid “law and order” mindset and regard constitutional rights with the suspicion and contempt reserved in popular culture for hippies and ACLU lawyers. Law enforcement loves a servile populace.

Why are El Paso residents ‘under the gun’ when peaceably addressing government?
by David Codrea

A citizen attempting to address the El Paso City Council was given only 70 seconds to speak by Mayor John Cook when he abruptly cut her off, declaring:

"Thank you, your time is over. If you can't remove yourself from the podium, I'll have you removed. Yeah. You can take your freedom of speech outside."

This is spite of the fact that the First Amendment specifically articulates a right “to petition the government for a redress of grievances,” and all public officials, per Article. VI. of the Constitution specifically requires “all executive and judicial Officers…of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution…”

The libertarian 'Truth in Labeling Project'
By Garry Reed

Let's start actively using the phrase "prohibition related crimes" instead of "drug related crimes"

The point here, of course, is that no libertarian or any other rational human being would call the voluntary use of a drug, any drug, a "crime." That's the malicious, power-drunk game played by the ruling class against its own peaceful citizens.

And while we're at it, let's quit making the militarized SWAT cops sound heroic by calling them Drug Warriors. Call them what they are: Drug Prohibition Enforcers (or Thugs or Goons or Government Uniformed Gangsters or some other realistically appropriate label).
