Theft by government
Federal Spending Continues to Increase
(WALL STREET JOURNAL)

This is said to be a new age of fiscal austerity, yet the government had its best year ever, spending a cool $3.6 trillion...

As discussed several times this week, there is no “austerity” in government - any cuts in specific programs or projects is not to save money, but to reroute the stolen goods to more “deserving” pockets.

Stupid people
Think Again: Nuclear Power
(FOREIGN POLICY)

The emissions reduction advantage that nuclear plants have over coal power cannot be ignored...

... Except by government policymakers, environists, and people who are stupid; and we have a LOT more of them than we do coal or uranium or thorium. If we could just harness the power of stupidity to produce electricity or propell our autos and aircraft!

Mama's Note: What a cool idea! And we all know that there will never be any shortage of stupid...

OCCUPY AMERICA – A review
by Nathan Barton © 2011

As readers might imagine, I’m watching this Occupy Wall Street, Occupy DC, Occupy Denver, Occupy Cortez, Occupy Rapid City, Occupy School X and Occupy Intersection Y very closely. As you might figure from my opening sentence, I’m not impressed.

There are many frustrations that I can agree with, and there are obviously some good things being said and done. Not all of them are thugs – maybe not even a majority. The ones I saw in Cortez weren’t sleeping in the park or taking dumps on somebody’s lawn, shouting obscenities or chanting mindless slogans. They weren’t even taunting cops! I might even agree with them that 1% is trying to run the rest of us – except that I don’t think it is as big as 1% and I don’t think that group is solely made up of evil capitalists or rich people. I even agree with them that we need to separate government from the corporations (and for a great look at that idea, visit HERE).

Claire Wolfe’s Great New Novel - Hardyville Tales
By James Bovard

Claire Wolfe is one of the finest freedom writers around. She has a knack for making freedom both vivid and fun. She has a new novel entitled Hardyville Tales - When ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ meets ‘For Your Own Good.’

The book is based in part on the hugely-popular series of internet columns Claire has written about Hardyville for more than a decade. It is hard not to love a town whose best known attraction is a Statute of a Drunken Cowboy.

Administration shill Weiner attempts to pull a fast (and furious) one
by David Codrea

Ah, so Bob: As their former spokesman, perhaps you can tell us why the Committee when under Democrat control ignored pleas to investigate allegations by veteran ATF agents of management abuse and corruption—made both publicly and sent to the Committee via its online citizen contact form?

And Bob: You no doubt have whistleblowers who have come forward—not just with allegations but with documentation—pinning Operation Wide Receiver on higher-ups in Justice—along with emails and correspondence?  In spite of the fact that a confidential informant at the center of the plan has publicly stated:

Hitler can happen here, and so can Stalin
By Garry Reed

In posing the question in a Lew Rockwell.com article, can a Hitler arise in America, Bob Bauman offers quotes from On Hitler's Mountain: Overcoming the Legacy of a Nazi Childhood, written by 77-year-old German-born Irmgard A. Hunt.

Hunt easily sees "an intolerant, ideology-driven, fundamentalist right wing" in America, but being "a self-identified political liberal" apparently blinds her to an equally intolerant, ideology-driven, fundamentalist left wing.
