By Nathan A. Barton © 2011 Abominable Act - Culture war: killing babies
Hatch: Obamacare Reg Would Force Religious Employers to Provide Abortifacients (CNSNews.com) This has been known for months now, since people had a chance to read the Abominable Act; it was a foregone conclusion that the regs would do this. For Tranzis, abortion is pretty near a sacrament, and they will do everything possible to push it, allow federal funding (see above) or FORCE private and public entities to not just allow it, but fund it. Mama's Note: I sure wish abortion funding was the major problem with this abomination. It's not. Those people who want to abort a baby will do so, one way or another, as they always have done. But this issue is being successfully used to hide the fact that the Obomination Act will effectively finish off the extremely sick allopathic medicine system in the US and make health care of any kind much more expensive and, worse, much more unreliable - even deadly in some cases. Some people are hung up on the way the "insurance" will be paid for, or the fact that it is mandatory. That's not the problem either. If you want to see the real problem, visit the Motor Vehicle Department, or look at the latest Federal SWAT raid stories. Get clear in your head that the bureaucrats and fedgoons will soon be (actually, just more than ever) telling your doctor what to do and how to do it. Get healthy now, and do what you must to stay that way. There isn't much time left. (Read

Thank you for your comments and your
well-thought-out response. I am curious if
you really did read the whole article, or just parts of it. I
certainly am NOT an apologist for al-Awlaki's murder - nor for the
administration and what it is doing, or how it is doing it. What
I am concerned with is (1) that people wrongly treat an advocate,
supporter, and leader of Islamic jihad as another poor innocent
American victim of the FedGov, and (2) that people use this as some
sort of evidence that the FedGov is becoming evil and has
not done such things for many, many years.

Know Your City Has Become a Hellhole When…
While I certainly don’t dispute that we are in a severe economic crisis (I’d call it a depression, even if the masters have forbidden that use of the word) few commentators show any understanding of the underlying causes, and the necessary changes. The Hellhole essay is a good example. What we are experiencing is a great correction. Lots of things that were stupid, pointless, and wasteful are being stopped. This is a good thing. Most people resist and decry the changes, but change is long overdue. Here are some examples. (Read

Chicago cop: Get a gun, know how to use it by David Codrea “Today, the man, or the store, or the home
without a gun is a patsy, a soft touch for the hoods,” Tom Newburgh
wrote in “Today a Gun Could Save Your Life.” Newburgh’s credentials to
make such an authoritative statement?

Free vs. stealing: Do students know the difference? By Garry Reed So what does "free" mean to these people? That
all teachers, administrators and staff should donate their efforts to
educating the young and work second jobs flipping burgers to support
themselves? Of course not. The protesters have spent 37 weeks
"demanding more spending and higher taxes on the wealthy so that
quality public education can be free for all."

you
know a
good liberty centered blog? Tell us
about it! Silverblog Mises did for economics what Newton did for physics. While both built upon the work of others, each created a solid foundation, brick by brick, carefully cementing each in place with unassailable logic. Upon that foundation they built a mighty edifice, often criticized, sometimes extended and refined, but never refuted. I found some time ago that trying to explain and apply theories to practical problems improves my own understanding of the subject. Hence this blog. Enjoy, and please comment. PLEASE let me know
