Commentary on The News
By Nathan A. Barton © 2011 First Citizen – Congress in Action – Theft
by government
Obama Has Now Increased Debt More than All Presidents from George Washington Through George H.W. Bush Combined (CNSNews.com) I cannot and do not blame the First Citizen alone for this - Congress is indeed the ONLY organization that can authorize either the spending or the borrowing. Clearly, the First Citizen has encouraged, promoted, and facilitated this, but we must blame all three branches of the FedGov for this. Theft by government Nearly Half of U.S. Households Receive Government Benefits (WALL STREET JOURNAL) Nearly half -- 48.5 percent -- of the population lived in a household that received some type of government benefit in the first quarter of 2010... The kind of government benefits is important – much as civil servants can be despised, they at least theoretically earned their retirement, as can be said for military retirees and military disabled payees. But what is NOT included in this is the immediately-indirect benefits received by the employees, vendors, and owners of the tens of thousands government contractors. (Read

Criminalizing
free speech Assassination
by Nathan Barton © 2011 What is important? It is not whether or not it
was legal or even moral to kill a so-called
American citizen. It is not whether the FedGov has or is or will
be killing US citizens without “due process” (as though you are any
less dead with due process). It is that this administration, like
the last few, with the approval and aid of Congress, has waged a global
war, not to win, but merely to fight and kill and spend treasure, to
accomplish purposes that have nothing to do with the supposed object of
the war and is not justified by the threat of all the bin Laden’s and
al-Awlaki’s in the world.

And Weed - The Movie
Because there's no such thing as "half-free." Now available for sale on DVD! Great gift for all your anarchist friends. External Articles By Glenn Greenwald What has made Awlaki of such great concern for
American officials is not any alleged operational role in Terrorism,
but rather the fact that he advocates violent jihad and does so with
some degree of efficacy. To see how true that is, just consider
this morning’s New York Times debate forum that asks: “How Dangerous Is
Anwar al-Awlaki? With Yemen on the verge of civil war, how aggressive
should the U.S. be in trying to kill an American-born cleric?”
The responses from five Terrorism experts span the range of opinion
from “he’s not particularly dangerous” to “he’s extremely dangerous,”
but all of them — in explaining why he’s attracted so much attention —
emphasize the speeches he gives and ideas he advocates, and make only
the most passing and cursory reference to the unproven government
assertions that he’s involved in plotting Terrorist attacks:

The
“Market” Doesn’t Discipline, Ron Paul. We Do. Now, Ron Paul definitely thinks these
institutions should replace our current framework as one can see if one
watches the extended
interview. In it he elaborates upon his position regarding how he
believes stronger property rights and a free market would serve
environmental ends. The merit of this ecological argument will not be
examined in this op-ed; however, this abstraction of the market needs
to stop immediately. It’s
not a question of guns and weed not mixing The point of our discussion was a recent “Open
Letter to All Federal Firearms Licensees” advising licensed gun dealers
that it is illegal for medical marijuana users to purchase a firearm,
regardless of what state law says. And of course the issue isn’t
about getting stoned and then going shooting. James was setting up the
discussion so that we could address the real points of concern, not
just for pot smokers, but for all gun owners. Great
moments in philosophical construction
By Garry Reed This is an ode to predeterminism. Makes you
wonder why there's any reason to get up in the morning if the world is
already pre-programmed. But believing in predeterminism must have been
predetermined, so we can't know if it's true or untrue. People who say,
"Everything is predetermined" were predetermined to say that. And
people who reject predeterminism were predetermined to reject it.
Predetermination can't be right/wrong, good/bad, true/false. It's a
nice safe know-nothing philosophy.
