DRUG CURES INDEPENDENT THOUGHT FEMA, to pay for Irene damage, delays funds for rebuilding in tornado-ravaged areas (Washington Post) The Federal Emergency Management Agency is temporarily suspending some payments to rebuild roads, schools and other structures destroyed during spring tornadoes in Joplin, Mo., and Southern states and other recent natural disasters to pay for damage caused by Hurricane Irene. With initial damage assessments from the storm potentially in the tens of billions of dollars, the Obama administration will need to request supplemental funding from Congress, possibly provoking another fight over federal spending as a new congressional “supercommittee” prepares to identify trillions of dollars in government spending cuts. This of course illustrates WHY government should not be
involved in disaster relief and recovery operations: it was a purely
political decision to STOP paying for rebuilding in “Flyover
Country” (and Joplin is definitely that in DC eyes) so that the
politically-powerful states can get all their welfare, even if their
disaster is not as damaging as the twisters. And frankly, the
damage assessments, in my opinion, are almost CERTAINLY excessive and
often imaginary, for the Irene non-cataclysm. As the presidential campaign season gets into full swing, be prepared to hear the standard arguments about which candidate and which party is better at managing the economy. The debate surfaces every four years. Republicans will cry, “President Obama and the Democrats have made a mess of the economy. Elect us because we’re able to do a better job at managing the economy. ” It was the same thing four years ago, only then it was the Democrats exclaiming, “President Bush and the Republicans have made a mess of the economy. Elect us because we’re able to do a better job at managing the economy. ” (Read the rest here) by Michael W Dean ![]() Short comedy radio ad for fake drug COMPLYACIN

On My Mind
(Read

it!” moments when learning more about libertarian ideas. It was when I
read Murray Rothbard’s take on controversies surrounding burning and
other kinds of flag "desecration." In his essay, The Flag
Flap, Rothbard put the controversy and conflict into terms of
property rights. If it’s your flag, then it’s yours to do as you wish.
So simple!
Embassy
cable: 'No way of verifying...numbers' of US guns in Mexico Mike Vanderboegh at Sipsey Street Irregulars notes the cable offers
proof the government was well aware back in 2009 that the "90% of
Mexican crime guns come from U.S. dealers" figure being
promulgated was a lie, that they had and still have no way of knowing
(which is why a veteran special agent says they need bodies).
Of course, we knew they knew that back in March 2009 when
Deputy USAG David Ogden told the Senate Committee on Homeland Security
and Governmental Affairs that the 90% figure was based on "firearms
about which ATF receives information are traceable to the United
States." Nice wood you got there. Consider it seized. By Vin Suprynowicz That “laser-like focus” of the Obama
administration on jobs?
Maybe they meant “on destroying jobs.” Agents of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, armed with sub-machine guns, again last week raided and shut down production at the factories of the Gibson Guitar Corp. in Memphis and Nashville, Tenn. Gibson manufactures acoustic and electric guitars, and Baldwin-brand pianos. Agorism4everyone
...an agorist is basically a person who believes that all government is violent, coercive, and is the antithesis to liberty, and thus it should be abolished. Agorists also believe that the best way to bring about the end of government is to provide free-market alternatives that ignore the government's arbitrary rules and regulations, stave it of resources by not reporting taxable income, and committing peaceful, civil disobedience.
