Libertarian rights activist charged with jury tampering Libertarian News Examiner "'On January 11, 2011,' veteran libertarian rights activist Julian Heicklen announced to his Tyranny Fighters email list, 'I was notified by summons that I have been criminally charged with jury tampering.' Many might be distressed by such news, but not Heicklen. ... 'My position is that neither jury nullification is or that I am on trial. My position is that the judiciary is on trial. Jury nullification needs no defense. It is the law of the land.'" (01/16/11) Brave and true words from Julian - our prayers are with him. Sadly, he is not the only libertarian who has been abused by agencies this week. Mama's Note: I have a new hero! Julian is probably the best modern example of a free individual who constantly and exuberantly spits in the face of leviathan. (Read

Pennsylvania doctor charged with murdering thousands of unborn, hundreds of newborn babies BBC News A 69-year-old Philadelphia doctor, Kermit Gosnell, was charged with murder and other offenses in the deaths of thousands of babies (born alive as late as the eighth month of pregnancy (by inducing labor) and then killed with medical instruments after birth), thousands of late-term abortions (illegal in Pennsylvania), the death of a patient, and other acts. According to prosecutors he made millions of dollars for treating poor minority women, sometimes maiming them. Nine of his clinic workers are also charge with various crimes, including murder. The clinic, described as a “baby charnel house” had bodies stored in freezers and refrigerators, cabinets, and in jars and jugs. How evil and hideous this is. It is impossible to describe my feelings of horror. Yet, this is the natural result of refusing to understand that humans are humans, whether born or unborn. Dr. Gosnell’s greed was (and no doubt will be) supported by millions of those for whom human sacrifice (abortions) is a sacred act of worship to whatever evil it is that they worship. Changing
Hearts, Changing Minds – Thoughts on Roe v. Wade
By Doug Newman In the current political climate, I hold no
hope that we will see any changes in the legality of abortion any time
soon. Education is a very powerful weapon. I cannot urge you too
strongly to read Mr. Clancy’s web site in detail. Secular science
confirms what the Bible teaches – Psalm 139:16. A baby in its mother’s
womb is a person too. To abort it is to kill it. Abortion is murder.
(Read the rest here) (Use the back button to return.) By Thomas Szasz Do people really want to know why,
on January 8, 2011, in Tucson, Arizona, a young man named Jared Lee
Loughner engaged in mass murder? I submit they do not. Politicians,
psychiatrists, pundits, and the press univocally assert that Loughner’s
deed is the “senseless” product of mental illness. This belief in a
non-existing mental disease causing mass murder is on a par with young
children’s belief in Santa Claus. It is false but satisfies the
believers. The great French essayist Michel de Montaigne (1533-1592)
sagely observed: “Nothing is so firmly believed as what is least known.”

by Steve Kubby
The legalization of cannabis sounds like a great idea, but there are
serious issues that raise disturbing questions about the chaos and
suffering that will ultimately result. That's because in the world of
legalization, things are not as they appear. On January 29, 2011 the top guns of the marijuana legalization movement will be meeting in Oakland, California in an extraordinary event organized by California NORML. Many of my longtime friends will be there to come up with a strategy for finally legalizing cannabis. It breaks my heart just to think about it. Several years back, Ed Rosenthal and I wrote a popular book called, "Why Marijuana Should be Legal." You'd think the prospect of legalization being so close to reality would fill me with good cheer, but it doesn't. The legalization of cannabis sounds like a great idea, but there are serious issues that raise disturbing questions about the chaos and suffering that will ultimately result. That's because in the world of legalization, things are not as they appear. (Read the rest here) (Use the back button to return.) Sipsey

Peggy Noonan pronouces me a person of "bad intent." Yeah? So deal with it. By Mike Vanderboegh "What civilian needs a pistol with a magazine
that loads 33 bullets and allows you to kill that many people without
even stopping to reload? No one but people with bad intent."
Then Noonan answers her own question: Of course the real answer depends upon the situation. What if you substitute the following for "people"? "Gang bangers bashing in your front door." "Hooded Ku Klux Klansmen with guns and a rope in your front yard." "Nazi Einsatzgruppen murderers wanting to put you on a train." "A Khmer Rouge 'relocation' team in your village." Those are all sub-categories of "people." Does Noonan believe that anyone who defends themselves against such "people" are persons of "bad intent"? Deal with it. We don't think much of your intent either, Peggy. (Read the rest here) (Use the back button to return.) National Gun Rights Examiner Ad hominem ploys are to be expected. Readers
following this story will recall its genesis in posts on
CleanUpATF.org, a website where street agents have been leveling
allegations of bureau incompetence and corruption, and we should assume
serious conflicts first manifested themselves on the job, and then
assume management has made note of them. I would also expect those of
us advancing this story to be dismissed if our part in doing so is even
acknowledged. Libertarian

Would you call the cops on your kids? By Garry Reed The question for his Freedom Fried
video, posted at clearsky24
on Monday, is this:
What should good parents do if they discover that their teenager has brought governmentally disapproved marijuana into the home and is smoking it? A. Be a good little law-abiding Fox News ultra conservative government-lover and rat out your brat to the authorities so they can throw your kid in a cage and seize your home as a Drug War asset forfeiture? B. Be a libertarian parent who understands that freedom comes with responsibility and handle the situation yourself? (Read the rest here) (Use the back button to return) Features From The Last Issue
