Pelosi Claims Jobs ‘Permeated’ Congressional Actions in Year of 10 Percent Unemployment
CNSNews.com

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Congress’ focus over the past year has “always” been about jobs and deficit reduction. “The jobs issue has permeated everything, [every] major initiative that we have,” Pelosi said at her weekly press briefing Thursday.

I really do not understand how she keeps coming off her meds and saying things like this - doesn't she have enough keepers? Opps, I hope that is not seen as contemptuous; I am just concerned about the health and stability of one of the ruling Triumvirate of this nation (although I can't seem to find the concept in the Constitution).

Mama's Note: Just keep in mind that the "jobs" they're working so hard to create are all GOVERNMENT jobs, bureaucrats and goons to keep the serfs in line and all that stuff. She isn't interested in real JOBS so us ordinary people can feed our families, of course. Silly person. It would never occur to her that leaving everyone alone to run their own lives would eventually take care of BOTH problems.(Read the rest here)

Following a breath-taking electoral surge, Scott Brown took the seat formerly held by liberal patron saint Ted Kennedy, handily defeating Democrat Martha Coakley in the Massachusetts senate election.

Although the national press spun the contest as a referendum on Obamacare, another powder-keg issue lurked behind the headlines: Martha Coakley’s prominent role in prosecuting a child abuse case and her contended culpability of the “primary male offender.” (Read the rest here)

The U.S. Constitution: The 18th Century Patriot Act

By Tom Mullen

As that trend seems to have reversed, Americans look to their past to try to establish where we have gone wrong and what we can do to solve our problems. Increasingly, some Americans point to the U.S. Constitution and our abandonment of its “limits on government” as the reason for our downfall. It is generally argued by “strict constitutionalists” that the purpose of the U.S. Constitution was to limit the power of the government. Nothing could be further from the truth.   Indiana lawmaker projects fear of own self-control onto gun owners
by David Codrea

Smith said he once became so angry at a man who was picking on him at a dance that if he had a gun, he might have used it.    "It shows you that when you have a gun, how many times you don't think," Smith said.

This would appear to be one of those times, Rep. Smith. And you would do well to consider that your thoughlessness, emotionalism and lack of control, and the projection of your self-perceived inadequacies onto others, have no bearing on the unalienable rights of those of us who aren't just plain silly. Senate Bill 40- a shabby patch for a bad 'law'
By Kent McManigal

I have written before about the fact that the political "solution" for bad "laws" is not new "laws" but the repeal of the bad "laws".  No one is listening to me.

Senate Bill 40 is a "new" proposed "law" that seeks to undo some damage caused by older bad "laws".  What it would do is "allow" people with concealed weapon permits to carry their weapon into a restaurant that serves alcohol.  How "nice" of the Law Givers to let people beg for "legal" permission to do something that is already a basic human right, not subject to limitation, licensing, or other forms of infringement.  Whether this is "a good idea" or not and whether such a right might be abused, isn't even part of the equation.  If you think it is, you are demonstrating that you don't understand the nature of rights at all.

Imagine, just for a moment, hearing this from your president:

"I have little interest in 'streamlining' government, nor in making it ' more efficient,' for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to ' promote welfare,' for I propose to extend Freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is 'needed' before I have first determined whether it is Constitutionally permissible. And, when attacked for ' neglecting my constituents' 'interests,' I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is Liberty, and in that cause I am doing the best I can."

The Obama Boondoggle Express – railroading us with railroads
By Garry Reed

As reported in The New York Times and virtually every other media outlet on the planet, President Obama is taking his 8 billion State of the Union job-creation stimulus bucks on the road.

Railroad, that is.
