Militia movement resurfaces across nation Associated Press "Norm Olson's genial tone belies his reputation as a radical militiaman, yet here he is, at 63, an affable grandfather explaining why Americans should arm themselves against their government. ... Olson -- a man whose conspiracy theories were so extreme that he was kicked out of the group he founded, the Michigan Militia, 15 years ago -- discourses on the need for a paramilitary Alaska Citizens Militia. He lays out his ideas about imminent economic collapse and social chaos incited by federal bailouts and other forms of intrusion by a tyrannical government. Olson's militia is minuscule at the moment, but there has been a resurgence of the militia movement nationwide, in part coinciding with the advent of the Obama administration. At least 50 new right-wing militia groups have been identified by the Montgomery, Ala.-based Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit civil rights organization. All have formed within the last two years, many spreading their speeches and combat exercises on YouTube." (11/20/09) The SPLC is a close sister to ACORN and HCI and AARP, NAACP, yes, and the ACLU. Fortunately, for everyone like Norm Olson, there are 10 or 100 people who are quietly preparing and planning and coordinating, and who do not see a need for grandiose organizations or rhetoric. But clearly, based on this and dozens of similar articles, a lot of people are worried that the powder keg has its top smashed in, and that we are waiting for a spark. United States is a utopia.
Of course it has problems, but those problems must be compared to the
rest of the world, and to other systems besides a mixed-market
economy. In reading this, I am amused by how much this socialist
propaganda is like the Democratic Party/Obama Administration/
Obama-Reid-Pelosi Triumvirate propaganda (or is it the other way
around'). While the number “45 million” without health care
insurance
has been disproved time and again, let us accept it for the sake of
argument – and see that it is meaningless. Health care insurance
is
NOT the same as health care, and doing without the insurance does not
mean that you do without the care – for millions of Americans this is
not a problem. But more to the point, in much of the world where
there
is supposedly “universal health care” – it amounts to exactly nothing:
no doctors, no physician’s assistants, no nurses available to provide
the much-vaunted universal care. And don’t get started on the
quality
or timeliness of that care. Or for that matter, on the fact that
"health care" is no more a right
than is supermarket food - it is a commodity, a service to be purchased
by the consumer like any other. (Read

![]() False Guilt and The Common Good By Susan Callaway, Editor This false guilt is exactly the burden
socialism and many
religions attempt to place on your back every minute of every day. They
use your natural compassion and sympathy to impose the
totally irrational idea that such guilt - and the theft of your life
and property - could even hope to contribute
anything to the well being or happiness of everyone else in the world.
This
is staggering, especially when you consider how many people actually
fall for such a monstrous lie.
Examine your own conscience. What have you done,
personally or by
encouraging and supporting others, to harm another person? Your only
honest guilt is for those actions. You owe them, and them alone
whatever reparations are possible to make it right. You and I do not
owe anything for actions taken by others, especially before we were
born. And nobody not actually a victim of those wrongs is due any sort
of compensation! You cannot logically assume guilt for other people,
nor be liable for the debts of others unless you freely assume them. This false guilt then leads to theft, murder and
torture of other human
beings in the name of a utopian "equality" of outcome - the idea that
everyone must sacrifice their own life and needs for some nebulous
"greater good," never defined in any but the most global, irrational
terms. (Read

Shelter Watchdogs: See No Evil, Speak No Evil Domestic violence shelters are rife with
mismanagement and fraud. They
push a radical gender ideology on the unsuspecting, discriminate
against male victims, and employ woefully unqualified staff. And they
ridicule traditional religion as “oppressive” to women – all to the
tune of $100 million in federal taxpayer money each year.
So how do shelters get away with this nonsense? Where’s the accountability? And why are the government-mandated watchdogs giving these shelters a free pass? According to federal rules, all organizations that receive $300,000 or more are required to undergo an annual audit. According to OMB Circular No. A-133, “the auditor shall determine whether the auditee has complied with laws, regulations, and the provisions of contracts or grant agreements that may have a direct and material effect on each of its major programs.” These include well-known requirements that grantees not discriminate on the basis of race or sex. ![]() Battle Rifle Basics by Michael Gaddy
Using the events that occurred after Hurricane
Katrina as a template, one can see that those who were armed were able
to secure themselves and their property on several occasions by simply
displaying a firearm when confronted by these roving bands of
criminals. Of course after this happened the government moved to forcibly
disarm law-abiding citizens. Simply stated, the criminals in
government moved to protect their brotherhood among the street gangs
and criminal element by disarming law-abiding citizens. This explains
in vivid detail why the government continually seeks to disarm the
public: it is easier to steal from and enslave those who
are unarmed. Considering the police in New Orleans became thieves
themselves continues to blur
the distinction between government employees and thieves. (Read

National Gun Rights Examiner I don't trust anyone who demands I be disarmed.
I automatically think they're up to no good. Especially if they insist
that they be armed. As an aside, I note the Department of

Anchorage
Libertarian Examiner
By Kevin Wilmeth So, the robbers' little social experiment has failed...right? Actually, some would say that it succeeded wildly. After all, even after the mercantilist interests toss off the state's plundered gift like a used napkin, and the state fails (ah-gain) to better the lives of "its" people despite strong-arming everyone to engineer a result, the precedent remains with us like the festering boil it is. (Come on...you think the state would so blatantly stake out its claim to take your property and give it to a better revenue source, and then give it back?) The Kelo decision, more than anything, made it a little easier for the state to come in and do the same thing to you, tomorrow, for any reason that may seem sufficient to the state at the time. Some might say that was the point all along. (Read

the modern, trendy camouflage word for "socialist") angrily
pontificated that the libertarian label belonged exclusively to them,
that the socialist usage could be traced back 150-200 years, that the
libertarian label was stolen from the socialists in 1971 by the
Libertarian Party (many non-libertarians harbor the illusion that the
LP is somehow the beginning of modern libertarian's existence), and
that "anarcho-capitalist" rather than "libertarian socialism" is the
true oxymoron (because socialists make no distinction between
"capitalism" which is accepted by libertarians as a synonym for
voluntary free trade while "corporatism" is an invention of coercive
government and is therefore rejected by libertarians, but that's
another article). (Read
