Whew!
Fortunately, I remembered that the First Citizen promised us time and
time again that the poor and the middle class won't have to pay more
taxes under him, so it is absolutely certain that he will veto this. I
assume (and hope) that he will also support a challenger to Mr. Rangel
to unseat him and let him move down to his rental property in Jamaica.
Yeah, right... (Read

Don’t Call it ‘Domestic Violence’ A July 6 article in the New York Times conjectured the incident may have been a “double homicide or part of a murder-suicide.” But no mention of domestic violence. A July 8 story from ESPN relied on artful phrasing to sidestep the dreaded “DV” words. Police “waited for further tests and the revelations about Kazemi’s personal problems before concluding that she pulled the trigger,” ESPN explained. Excuse me, but what do revelations about someone’s personal life have to do with figuring out whether she pulled the trigger? By the following day, the rehabilitation of Ms. Kazemi had shifted into high gear. An article in the Washington Post was crafted to evoke the reader’s sympathy, informing us she was “increasingly tormented by a rush of personal problems” and “her life was falling apart.” (Read the rest here)

![]() External Articles Don't Let Them Disarm You by Chuck Baldwin Home is the one place where most of us feel
safe and protected. Even those who have a keen sense of self-defense
feel free to let their guard down at home. And, sadly, most people do
not possess a keen sense of self-defense. Most people have the deluded
opinion that law enforcement will protect them. But even law
enforcement professionals will tell you it is not their job to protect
citizens; it is their job to apprehend and bring those who have
committed crimes to justice. In other words, after you are dead, the
cops will try to catch the guys who killed you.
It is time that people wake up to the fact that
the responsibility of self-defense rests with each individual citizen.
We are all vulnerable to attack – even in our homes! For this reason,
our federal Constitution and most (if not all) State constitutions
recognize the Natural Law right of people to keep and bear arms. (Read

Those naughty Hondurans By Kevin Wilmeth In an article in this week's issue of The Libertarian Enterprise,
Russell Longcore argues that the recent, ah, replacement of the head
executive in Honduras, cannot properly be called a coup d'etat, as that
term implies the overthrow of a legitimate
government, and Manual Zelaya was rather conspicuously violating his
country's constitution. (Put aside, for the moment, that the term
"legitimate government" is an inherent oxymoron. The only
government that is "legitimate" to every one ot its citizens is
self-government.) (Read

Why are they throwing themselves at the feet of a grotesque, morbidly obese behemoth that gobbles up everything within its reach and begging it, "Please, take me!" These people are the Marijuana Policy Project, an organization that envisions "a nation where marijuana is legally regulated." The
fat slob is the state of California, still looking for the next orgy of
food to gorge itself on even though it's already bloated and bankrupt. (Read
