Theft by Government:
Government Will Cost Americans 103 Days Pay in 2009
CNSNews.com
Tax Freedom Day, the day on which Americans will have made enough money to fully fund government, will arrive eight days earlier than last year, due to both the effects of the recession and the economic stimulus spending bill passed by Congress. It would require every dollar in wages Americans make between Jan. 1 and April 13 to pay all taxes and fully fund federal, state, and local government.

Happy Tea Party Day!!! And keep in mind, this is just DIRECT taxes - not the indirect ones that drive prices of everything up - and NOT the theft of our money through inflation and borrowing that condemns the next generations to grinding poverty. Unless something drastic changes. (Read the rest here)

Chicago's Nuclear Obama - False Flag Unfurled
By Captain Eric H. May

IN MID-DECEMBER, barely a month after the presidential elections and more than a month before the inauguration, we were in the doghouse with our anti-Bush cohorts for co-authoring "Black Bush Barack? False Flag Frankenstein?"1 In it we argued that what America hoped would be Obamalot might just turn out to be Obamageddon. A week later Pravda echoed our concerns in its equally provocative "USA needs nuclear explosion to turn world into dictatorship" 2

"Is the United States going to put dictatorship into effect under the guise of the anti-terrorist struggle? What may trigger another major transformation in 2009? The answer is obvious: another 9/11 in the USA. Most likely, the world will witness a nuclear blast." (Read the rest here)

Politically Incorrect Movie Reviews
Watchmen
By RadioFree Rocky D

Watchmen bills itself as an “alternate history” story (kind of like the Yankee version of the War Between The States). Countless film companies over the last two decades flirted with the idea of turning Watchmen into a film, but they all backed out. Perhaps this compendium of trendy confusion is simply unfilmable. Even so, the political correctness did seep its way into this perplexing picture.

The PC is built right in to the very Watchmen world itself. The whole idea is that the world would be a totally messed up place if America had won the Vietnam War, Nixon had remained President (for five terms no less), homosexuality had been kept in the closet and “right wing morality” had prevailed. Liberals seem to think that any societal rules against depravity is depravity. (Read the rest here)

National Gun Rights Examiner
If we can't trust ATF under oath, when can we trust them?
by David Codrea

The following transcript is from Oct. 1995. The speaker was Thomas Busey, then chief of ATF's National Firearms Act Branch. The subject was the NFRTR, the National Firearms Registry and Transfer Record. It's the official record the government keeps on all National Firearms Act-registered weapons, such as machine guns, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, suppressors, destructive devices and AOWs, or "Any Other Weapons" the agency deems taxable/requiring registration. Here's what Mr. Busey said about it:

Let me say that when we testify in court, we testify that the data base is 100 percent accurate. That's what we testify to, and we will always testify to that. As you probably well know, that may not be 100 percent true. (Read the rest here) (Read the entire article at the source website. Use the back button to return.)

In Preparation for the 2010 Census!
by Gary D. Barnett

Now to the meat of the problem! In my opinion, the harassment and threats for non-compliance will be intensified and more obvious than ever this coming year. Since I wrote my first article concerning this subject, I have received letter after letter from many who have been harassed, threatened, intimidated and just plain bothered by census takers. These people (census takers) are trained to not take no for an answer and they can be and will be aggressive and abrasive. I have always tended to be polite and to tell them only how many people are in my household. If they persisted in their endeavor, I simply asked them to leave my property. If they continued to be impolite, I then demanded that they leave my property at once, or I would take other measures. That, at least considering personal contact situations, has been enough to solve the problem so far. This has not been the case, however, considering other types of census taking. I believe that the Community and Business surveys, if not adhered to, will be the cause of more government wrath visited upon those properly refusing to answer such intrusive questions. Are 'free riders' a real problem?
By Kent McManigal

I think the problem is greatly exaggerated. If people get together to build a bridge, and don't charge a toll for crossing it, does that mean an out-of-town visitor is a "free rider" if he crosses the bridge? He may be crossing the bridge to trade with a business owner who helped pay for the bridge; someone he wouldn't have been able to trade with had the bridge not been built. So is the business owner being cheated since he paid to help build the bridge and the visitor did not? What if this person who crosses the bridge decides to trade with a business owner who also didn't contribute to the construction of the bridge? Does this business owner never trade with the other businesses around him? How did he get the money that he spends in these other stores? Is there no value in keeping his store open for the other people in town? (Read the rest here) (Read the entire article at the source website. Use the back button to return.)

Capitalism isn’t working?
By Garry Reed

G20, of course, refers to the group of twenty ruling class leaders who are meeting to determine how best to use the world financial crisis they created to further their own goals of expanding and consolidating their power over everyone. They are supported in this by Marx-hugging street protesters who seem to actually believe that more government coercion is a good thing. The largest banner in the photo declares, "Capitalism isn't working."

The first thought that comes to mind is “How would they know?” Have they ever actually seen any capitalism? (Read the rest here) (Read the entire article at the source website. Use the back button to return.)

The Divide Between Society and State
by Frank Chodorov

In the operation of human affairs, despite the fact that lip service is rendered the concept of inherent personal rights, the tendency to call upon the State for the solution of all the problems of life shows how far we have abandoned the doctrine of rights, with its correlative of self-reliance, and have accepted the State as the reality of Society. It is this actual integration, rather than the theory, that marks off the twentieth century from its predecessors.

One indication of how far the integration has gone is the disappearance of any discussion of the State qua State — a discussion that engaged the best minds of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The inadequacies of a particular regime, or its personnel, are under constant attack, but there is no faultfinding with the institution itself. The State is all right, by common agreement, and it would work perfectly if the "right" people were at its helm. (Read the rest here) (Read the entire article at the source website. Government Exploits Crisis to Seize New Powers
By Robert Higgs

How do once-free people lose their liberty? The formula may be stated succinctly: crisis and leviathan. The procedure for government officials and their supporters who hope to gain by quashing the people’s liberties is, first, cause a serious crisis, thereby heightening the public’s fears, and, second, blame others for the crisis, pose as the people’s savior, and thereby justify the seizure of new powers allegedly necessary to remedy the crisis and to prevent the recurrence of such crises in the future.

Recent news reports bring us a perfect illustration—one of many during the past year of financial debacles and worsening economic recession. According to an Associated Press article, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner asked Congress on March 24 for “broad new powers to regulate non-bank financial companies.” Geithner, of course, earnestly expressed the finest motives: “We must ensure that our country never faces this situation again.” Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke joined him in “calling for greater governmental authority over complicated and troubled financial companies.” These men want the legal power “to seize control of institutions, take over their bad loans and other illiquid assets and sell good ones to competitors.” (Read the rest here) (Read the entire article at the source website. Taxation with Misrepresentation
by Sheldon Richman

It’s tax season. Consider what that means. It’s the time of year when you must account for yourself to the government. You must report every dime you earned last year, and if you believe any of it should be beyond the state’s grasp, you’d better have the proof. If the government withheld more of your money than (you think) the rules require, it is your burden to prove that. You then must submit the official paperwork by a certain time. If the authorities are not satisfied with what you submit, they will demand that you prove you’ve done it right. If you can’t, you’ll have to do it their way and pay more. Should you refuse to comply with any of these requirements — and a lot more no one understands — the government has the power to make your life hell and impose additional financial burdens. It can even imprison you.

And all in a country most people would swear is free. (Read the rest here) (Read the entire article at the source website. Use the back button to return.)
