August
06, 2007 And not only that, but the scare-mongering and terrorist-embracing brown shirts in the GOP of Santorum, Giuliani and Chertoff also threatened more harm if Congress didnt do exactly as they were told. They were warned by one of the highest-ranking members of Republican nobility, Sir Thanks A. Lott, as reported by Spencer Ackerman on August 2nd in TPMmuckraker: Senate Minority Leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.) ominously advised last Thursday that Congress needed to pass changes to terrorist surveillance laws before leaving for the August recess and warned that otherwise the disaster could be on our doorstep. Ackerman in his article, Lott: Get Out of D.C. While You Still Can reports, It turns out the Capitol Police have bolstered security around the U.S. Capitol after a recent al-Qaeda communiqué threatened an attack on Washington. Lott responded with characteristic gravitas. In light of the heightened threat, Congress can either amend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act or all of us can run screaming into the inferno. Ackerman continues quoting Sir Lott after His Highness was pressed for more details: I think it would be good to leave town in August, and it would probably be good to stay out until September the 12th. So there you have it straight from the elephants mouth! James Risen of The New York Times reports in his August 6th article entitled, Bush Signs Law to Widen Legal Reach for Wiretapping, offering: President Bush signed into law on Sunday legislation that broadly expanded the governments authority to eavesdrop on the international telephone calls and e-mail messages of American citizens without warrants. Congressional aides and others familiar with the details of the law said that its impact went far beyond the small fixes that administration officials had said were needed to gather information about foreign terrorists. They said seemingly subtle changes in legislative language would sharply alter the legal limits on the governments ability to monitor millions of phone calls and e-mail messages going in and out of the United States . Know why the law went far beyond the small fixes that administration officials said were needed and why the seemingly subtle changes will sharply alter the legal limits on the governments ability to spy on Americans? Its because as usual, the brainless morons and harlots in Congress didnt bother to either read or study the bill before approving it thats why! Its as Connie Francis sang back in 62: V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N time! Dontja see?! Its time to hit the beach! Its time for Disneyland and the French Riviera! Time to hit the Hamptons on Long Island ! But mostly, its more than time to get the hell out of Washington in case the GOP decides to blow it up! Heres more from Risen: They also said that the new law for the first time provided a legal framework for much of the surveillance without warrants that was being conducted in secret by the National Security Agency and outside the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, the 1978 law that is supposed to regulate the way the government can listen to the private communications of American citizens. This more or less legalizes the N.S.A. program, said Kate Martin, director of the Center for National Security Studies in Washington, who has studied the new legislation.
And isnt that the key? Cant you see it? This legitimizes the felonies committed by the Bush regime BEFORE the congroids made it legal today. It is precisely what the Founders forbade in the Constitutions Article I, Section 9, third paragraph: No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed. Congress just did, and invalidated any and all pretense that the Bush regime would be held accountable for violating the FISA laws and committing the felonies prohibited by a law now deemed a horrible mistake!
And why shouldnt they? Cheney decided the regime needed a decided advantage over its subjects in America, so he and Gonzales rescinded Article I, Section 9, paragraph two: The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it. Congress passed that unconstitutional piece of garbage, the Military Commissions Act, as well.
Also in Risens article, is the hint of bigger and better things to come, brought to US once again to be put on our table by our caring, compassionate dictatorship and its approving and regime-supporting Democratic Party congroids: The law also gave the administration greater power to force telecommunications companies to cooperate with such spying operations. The companies can now be compelled to cooperate by orders from the attorney general and the director of national intelligence. Private sector corporations can now be forced to break constitutional law based upon orders given by the present attorney general, an attorney general that has, and continues to, lie and who holds both the Congress and our Constitution in contempt? And now secret, undercover agencies of the federal government have direct police powers over private citizens and private sector corporations? And orders to be given by Gonzo? How Third World! Whatever happened to all that talk from Leahy, and Schumer, and Specter calling for a special prosecutor to investigate our gangster attorney general from the Harvard Law cesspool? Whats up with that?
Thanks Congress! And thank you as well Democrats! Wanna know where all this is going?
Look no further than the latest congroid that is in trouble with criminal investigators, the Republican Senator from Alaska, Ted Stevens. While Cheney was threatening Congress with continued imprisonment until they signed his bill, and Lott was threatening to blow up Washington, the Gangsters of Politics [GOP] were busy sneaking a proposed bill [S. 602] through the Senate Commerce Committee. It is entitled the Child Safe Viewing Act of 2007, and according to Adam Thomas of pressesc.com , may represent a step toward expanding the FCCs censorship authority to include Internet content. May represent a step? Bet the ranch on it!
Heres more from Thomas August 3rd article, Internet filtering law approved by Senate Committee. The law stipulates that FCCs advanced blocking technologies would extend to a wide variety of distribution platforms, including wired, wireless, and Internet platforms. Think of Hillarys desperate need for Internet gatekeepers. Think of the state legislation proposed by Republican New Jersey Assemblyman Peter Biondi to punish ISPs for allowing vile and offensive language and political messages to be transmitted into the public domain. Biondi cited a blog, OWNED AND OPERATED by none other than the Star-Ledger, the largest newspaper in corrupt New Jersey.
Isnt it increasingly obvious that it is We the People who are really being targeted because it is surmised that we hate our governments wealth and freedom? Isnt it becoming clearer by the day that we are being brought democracy by the flash of a badge and the muzzle of a gun? Isnt it abundantly clear that BOTH the administration and the Congress are working together to destroy the American peoples dream of individual freedom and its limitless opportunities for personal wealth and yet more freedom? Isnt it clear that BOTH the Democratic Party and the Republican Party are working towards these ends together as well?
What we have now is the secret and evil genius of Cheney quickly jumping over lazy Americans and yellow dog Democrats relying on the false autopilot of a long-gone and neutered Constitution, the latter once thought to protect US from that which could never happen here: dictatorship. It is here and it is now. All that needs happen is another collapsed bridge, ferry crash, forest fire, or ANYTHING Cheney decides can be used as an excuse citing terrorism, and all of the Bush regimes executive orders can be activated into martial law. Think of hurricane Katrina, New Orleans, and Bush eating cake and strumming his guitar. At least one emperor had more class: he played the violin! Theodore
