While the massacres of southerners and native Americans is faded and often glossed over history, this article brings a horrifying realty to the "glory days" of our nation. Pat Sadly, if you read real history with an open mind, tyranny started long before 1776, and never was not diminished by the "revolution" - not even close. The "grand experiment" of liberty and justice for all was never even a possibility under the constitution, and won't ever happen until all forms of "other's government" are replaced with honest self-government, and rational self defense. Blanks Good article. As someone who lives in the Richmond VA area and attend gun shows regularly, I was concerned about the BATFE events in VA and TN. Concerning the incident in TN., I would think some civil disobedience would be in order. Perhaps a group of people with banners or posters should stand in front of any van with smoked windows apparently filming those attending gun shows. I wonder what reaction those in the van would have? Would they ask them to move along? For what possible reason? Perhaps harassing *them* (the best offense) is the best defense? and White Issues Wonderful article. I am a black reader who lives by treat others the way you want to be treated or you'd want your parents or grandparents to be treated. Benet Arrestee's Credibility Highly Suspect Not all pageants are bad nor do all pageants sexualize children. It is ignorant to believe that. If a little 14 year old Olympic gymnast was raped and murdered, would people say it was because she was on national television in a skintight body suit doing the splitz? Would they say that she had been sexualized by her parents and the media? NO...I don't think so. I am sure plenty of sex crazed child molesters watch these events more than they line up for pageants. Sure, I think the excessive make up and "sexy" walks some of these pageants encourage go way too far. But, all in all...most pageants don't even allow make up on a girl if she is under the age of 14. Almost every pageant I have been to constantly ENCOURAGE age-appropriate behavior and attire. It is terribly sad Jon Benet was killed, but it wasn't the pageants that did it to her. It was a very sick individual who probably would have killed her anyway, or just found another little girl to kill. I am not going to forbid bathing suits on my daughters when they go swimming because I am afraid some disgusting pervert might molest them. Please. S. The best way to encourage "age appropriate" behavior is to model it, then insist on it. Putting little girls in adult situations is never a good idea. These "pageants" are all about vanity and unnatural activities for children, no matter how you slice it. Of course, you can do what you wish with your children, that's just my opinion. in Dire Straights Hi Emilio. I have for a long time wanted to visit Cuba to see for myself the time warp of buildings etc., but also for the music. Checking with the Australian Government, they have no restrictions on travel there and I can use Aussie dollars with my gold card. So I am going there next year as part of my Caribbean cruise. Jim J. US Government's Usage of Atomic Bombs - Domestic - WTC Hi. My compliments to you. You have put in an amazing amount of work. I am an Australian. I am still amazed that Americans are still, or is it just, dealing with 911. After about an hour of seeing the TV footage, I figured out what it was about. I have a file on 911, but I don't add to it anymore as it is now old news. Americans obviously approve of the Bush Cabal as they voted the Bush Family in nearly a decade ago, in spite of the Bush family's anti American history. Your country has been terrorizing people since 1779, when you practiced on the native Indians. I pray for the day when I see what is now the United States of America break up into several civilized, law abiding people, but I hope that I will live long enough to see that.
