28, 2006 I watched the second plane hit the World Trade Center live on TV. That is such a huge thing, contained within that simple little statement. There were those who were there, and I suppose that they may have stronger emotional reactions to that idea than I do, but it is hard to imagine - the level of death, the level of pain, of families who will never see life again the same way... never. How? How could anyone possibly do such a thing? As time went by and the story came out that it was Islamic Muslims (or what ever the proper term for those hate filled box-cutter wielding heathen is) and I started to get my head around the rage, the frustration, the impotence that they might feel and, well, I started to think that I could understand ... if not forgive at least understand. Think what you might feel if Madeline Albright had said of the death of your baby, one of 500,000 who had died as a direct result of the heartless chess-move policies of people playing with lives as though they are toys on some global game board - if she had said that the death of your baby "was worth the cost." Was WORTH the cost? I have trouble contemplating how any human being could be so callous, so absolutely devoid of humanity, I as well have no know way of grasping the rage such a statement might stimulate in the wellsprings of the parent of such a baby. As I said, I'd begun to get my head around it all, come to whatever terms I could, and to move on, as we all must do. And then these nutcase conspiracy theory kooks started making all sorts of absurd, insane claims about the planes being operated by remote control and the buildings being brought down by pre-set demolition charges and such nonsense. Give me a break! It just made me mad all over; that they were spouting such stupid mindless drivel about something that was so hurt-filled already. What in the world ... ! Can't they just leave it alone? Haven't we gone through enough? But NO! They kept at it. With high pitched, angry voices, yelling in rage about how this was just not possible, and look at the evidence, and on and on with all these silly claims. And, you know - it got old. It takes a lot of energy to tune out all of those rants, day after day, Day after day. But at a certain point I started to notice that some of the things they were saying DIDN'T really add up. And so – slowly - like the proverbial camel's nose under the tent, the salesman's foot in the door, I started to try and find answers to how that massive central column could have disappeared as it did, cut into convenient truck sized pieces, ready to be quickly shipped offshore to be melted down before proper investigations could be conducted. How COULD a pilot who could barely negotiate a small training aircraft pull off a remarkable stunt of flying dexterity that long time veteran pilots said were beyond the ability of the finest among them, if not perhaps beyond even the capabilities of the aircraft themselves under the conditions claimed for them on that September morning in 2001. And the president's face, when he was told, and the multi-billion dollar terror insurance policies taken out only weeks before, and the complete failure of the entire military establishment to be able to muster up a response to a bunch of HUGE high-jacked commercial airliners wandering about the skies for, what was it, an hour or two? It came on like a tropical thunderstorm, rising from out on the horizon, building upon itself, one piece of impossible data piled upon another, swelling, billowing, thundering, until finally there was this raging downpour of certainty that this had been an inside job. ... ... ... Had to be. Had to be. Now who? and how? - that is all up for grabs. But the guys with the box-cutters? Nope, that was just as impossible as it sounded implausible the day they put that lie to the airwaves. Boy do I feel stupid. But beyond stupid, now I'm faced with the reality that huge numbers of people conspired to plan and execute the cold-blooded murder of thousands of their fellow denizens of this space we call home. Not only did they do this, but they then proceeded to act surprised and horrified and make bald faced lies day in and day out to thousands, hundreds of thousands, of good people whose lives they had just ripped out from under them - pretending to care, pretending to... pretending. I suppose that after putting that little show together, the subsequent annihilation of most of an entire innocent foreign civilization as a scapegoat was all in a days work. And I was still gullible enough to be surprised when the military went after the water systems and hospitals first. How stupid, how utterly blind I've been to the evil that man is capable of. As John Ford's character, Noah Cross, said in the movie Chinatown, "In the right circumstances man is capable of ANYTHING!" His delivery of that line is one of the most powerful scenes I've ever seen on film. I'm guessing he may have understood what I'm just starting to. Time to take a breath here. If you've gotten this far with me, you may be thinking that I'm nuts, misreading the data, overreacting, falling for propaganda. That is the most sensible thing to do, so let me throw out a few of the links to those things that have convinced me, against my better judgment, that what I'm saying is true. But I hope that you will continue to hear me out before you peruse these links, as what I want to say is probably not what you might be expecting, and it is something that I would like you to contemplate. The links:
a factual analysis by theologian scholar Dr. David Ray Griffin, given live in Madison, Wisconsin (MP3 Audio) same as above Scholars for 9/11 Truth, a site with links to every kind of data you might like to review Okay, so I was listening to a radio show the other day, a discussion regarding the physical impossibility of the government's theory. It was another reiteration, step by step, of all of the things that were claimed that are simply not congruent with the reality of the laws of physics, no matter how hard you try to squeeze them to fit the laws, no matter how generous you are with making allowances. The host of the show was obviously outraged. He became more and more emotional as the show went on, with good reason I can admit, but still, he was pretty much coming unhinged. In the discussion with his guest he mentioned the ultimate horror: almost none of the worlds highly respected scientists and engineers were willing to step forward and attest to these very clear scientific truths, these truths that would unmask this horrible fraud that has been perpetrated so ruthlessly upon, not just New York City or the U.S., but upon the entire global society of humanity. He was raging, screaming - you could imagine foam at the corners of his mouth. As much outrage as I felt at the obvious duplicity and cowardice of ALL of these humans to be unwilling to simply stand up and speak to the simple truths the factual data pointed to - still, it was embarrassing to be in the same company with this man who had so clearly lost it. This is not the image that you want to put forth when you are trying to convince others to consider a difficult idea, an idea which may perhaps change their entire world view forever, and not at all for the better. At this point his guest calmly broke in and uttered a thought that struck me immediately as very possibly the explanation, an explanation which chilled me to the bone. Let me back up just a tad. We have a blue ribbon panel appointed by the highest member/representative/leader in our government, perhaps the most powerful man in the world, a man whose fingers are literally always in reach of "the button." This panel was empowered to research the data, sift through it all, find the anomalies, deal with them, and come up with the definitive explanation which would finally put to rest all of the questions, the fears, the lingering doubts. The answer: The 9/11 Commission Report. So, they were empowered, they researched, they committeed, they wrote, printed and delivered. They podiumed and pontificated. Finally the issue was settled. Right? This is the president's panel, after all. Well what we in fact find in this report produced by a very carefully selected group of folks is lies, obfuscations, distortions, omissions and a carefully crafted story that attempts to sidestep all of the hard questions that the "9/11Truth Movement" has been nattering away about for all this time. It is simply not possible for these people to be unaware that they are lying to the public about one of the most horrific deeds of terrorism the world has ever known. Add to this the fact that we have a world full of scientists, engineers, professors, technicians, pilots, firemen, air traffic controllers, military personnel, ALL of whom are looking at data that they must know is filled with contradictions, and they are almost all standing behind this story that will not stand up to scrutiny. So here we have our radio show host, facing this condemnation of humanity at a level so high that it is causing him to totally lose control; it so counters his core beliefs in what he holds to be surely a sacred belief in the honorability of his fellow humans. And his guest said this (I paraphrase), "What if these people are so afraid of the collapse of the system that this fear has paralyzed them? They will accept anything rather than their fears of what may happen should the system fail?" I was stunned by this vision. What if it is true? What if human beings will do anything, stoop to any level, become worse than their greatest fantasies of the potential horrors they believe others capable of - solely to avoid the possibility of facing the unknown? This would explain religion of course. All religions, including that of government. The reality, of course, is that no one can know the future; no one can predict it. No one has ever envisioned life in the future to be anything close to what it has ultimately turned out to be once it finally arrived. So the truth of the matter is that we are defiling everything we hold sacred just to avoid something that we KNOW will not materialize, if we give it a moment's rational contemplation. This is insane! 500,000 babies dead... worth it to avoid having to accept the reality that we can't control the future. The legacy of joy, creativity, progress, health, wealth, art, music, leisure, all of this we are willing to dash upon the rocky shores of our fears of having to face the FACT that we cannot control the future. What our lives will be ten years from now, or even perhaps tomorrow, cannot ever be known. Think about that for a bit and you will have to admit to yourself that it is true. Will the sun shine, will someone leave you a hundred dollar tip, or spill scalding coffee on you resulting in permanent disfigurement, or will a tsunami flush hundreds of thousands of people to their deaths, or the cure to cancer be discovered or the solution to cold fusion made available and safe? Will a new Van Gogh paint a new "Sunflowers," or another George Harrison write a new "Here Comes the Sun?" All of these things are possible and much, much more, and all of these things are also unlikely to happen tomorrow. But one never knows! While all of them are unlikely to happen tomorrow all of them ARE likely to happen. So when will they? Are you willing to bet your humanity on any of them? Is it worth destroying an entire culture's foundation on the chance that for the first time in the history of man someone was able to make the correct prediction? I think that it may be worth it to consider these ideas. Weigh these things in the balance, and see what it looks like: we can utterly destroy all the beauty that life holds for us, to uphold the illusion that we can predict the future, or we can come to terms with our fears over our inability to know what tomorrow will bring, and in so doing once again perhaps achieve the greatness that pioneering peoples have so often won as a result of bravely setting out on adventures into the unknown, filled not with fear, loathing and hatred, but with joy, charity, expectation and willingness to face the future trials with open hearts, open minds and willing backs. Each of us makes that choice each and every day of our lives. Have you given sufficient thought to this? As the saying goes, that which we focus on we become. 9/11 is our past. Let it not be our future. Regarding these men and women who did this horrible deed - and there is no question but that they did it, and that it was an inside job, done by those who have sworn to protect us ... know this: they probably thought that it was necessary to do what they did. Just as all of those who are unwilling to stand up and face these truths, we all are made from the same heritage. We need to forgive them. But at the same time we need to take away from them the awful power that we've given to them to wield. WE have given them this power. WE have asked them to make our future safe. WE killed all of those people with our unwillingness to face our own fears, to stand up, face into the winds of time, and recognize that there are no guarantees. It is not someone else's job; it is our own, each of us. Belief in government killed those people. Belief. Faith. (Cowardice.) Stand up! That’s all it takes.
