21, 2006 Thank you for your piece. I think it is clear by Supreme Court decisions that the 16th Amendment granted "no new powers of taxation," but I think it is being used as a justification for applying non-apportioned direct tax on incomes. So the argument has both sides not arguing the same issue. "The 16th Amendment was legally ratified." Who cares--it didn't grant the power to tax wages. "The income tax was not properly ratified." So, it still didn't grant the power to do what you think it does. Am I off here? freedomfighterNY Here
are two excellent articles on this subject from Bob's archives. There
are many other very good articles on this and other constitutional issues: Your
message has been sent to Bob as well. Thanks for writing. Uranium:
Deja DU The Agent Orange of Eternity You are 100% correct. I am a Nam vet with multiple med problems. The VA will not give me 60% disability, only I have no immune system, diabetes, vascultis, diabetic neuropthy in both feet and wrists, sleep apnea, osteopena, all my joints are going bad from my immune system attacking the fluid in there, both eyes operated on, operations on both hands to remove my sympathetic nerves + 6 other illnesses I take 29 pills a day inc. 135 mg of morphine for all the tremendous pain. The army's answer: why no 100% ? That I may go back to work. SS gave me 100% the first time. I have been trying for 7 years, but the answer is always same, no assistance. With orange I was in zone, 3 19,000,000 million gallons on us. We ate it, drank it, ( from the wind while we sprayed the perimeter. How can they do this to us? I will die from all this, no wall for me. I am trying so hard for 100% from the army so my wife will get a check monthly so she can live OK. She has severe asthma. The amount of lies are astounding. My teeth and gums are bad from the diabetes, the VA dentist will not see you unless you are 100% disabled because they don't have the money for the rest of us. I feel sorry for the new veterans. I pray they don't have to go through what we are. Thank you. Best article I have read. I have 1 more chance to present case to try for 100%, all new info I can bring in and present to the guy from Washington due here in 6 or 12 months. Thank with all my heart. Joseph k. Thank you for sharing your information and your appreciation of the article. While the article was not specifically for the very few still living brave troops from Vietnam, their and your cause was definitely something that needed to be revisited and addressed. Be sure to highlight the EPA quotes regarding the effects of dioxin and I certainly hope some of the article's information helps you. I feel honored by your high praise and remarkable gratitude. Thank you for taking the time and effort to respond as I know just basic survival requires tremendous efforts on your part. Your response is a cherished one and I will include you in my thoughts and prayers for all those being destroyed by this government's actions and inactions. My Best to You and Yours, Ed
