Gun law expert urges American firearm owners in Catholic Church to send Vatican tough self-defense life message

In about a month, just before the Fourth of July celebration of American Independence Day, the Catholic Bishops in the United States plan to ask Catholic parishioners for contributions to the Peter’s Pence collection, a special annual solicitation to support the Vatican. The Vatican observer to the United Nations, Archbishop Celestino Migliore, is an outspoken supporter of a UN Program of Action for international gun control. If adopted and implemented, this Program would undermine the individual Second Amendment civil right of law-abiding American citizens to keep and bear arms for defense of life and other legitimate purposes.

A UN Conference on the Program meets in New York June 26 – July 7. These international gun grabbers are meeting in the United States to promote the disarming of Americans during America’s top patriotic holiday! And the Vatican’s top man at the UN is party to this insult! And the American Bishops are asking American Catholic gun owners to support this travesty of our heritage! What an outrage!

Also, what hypocrisy! Officials of the Catholic Church, allegedly a paramount defender of the right to life, working to undermine the practical ability of people to use necessary instruments of force for defense of life! And this at a time when citizens ought to be able to defend themselves against terrorists as well as other violent criminals!

The Language of Liberty
by Aaron Singleton

Many of us have been lulled into a false sense of security by the soothing lullaby of political promises. Others have fallen prey to the fear-mongers and the hypnotic rhythm of the drums of perpetual war. Both visions are mirages that are carefully constructed using vague, ambiguous language. We can witness the wholesale subversion of the English language in real time by tuning in to C-SPAN, CNN or FOX News at practically any time of day. Firebrands like Bill O’Reily, Sean Hannity and Michael Moore spout nonsense and poisonous drivel yet enjoy enormous popularity and influence.

Much noise is made by libertarians about the state’s domination of money, the school system, the media, etc, but state control over these and other institutions is (at least partly) dependent on their control over and manipulation of language. It is an indispensable means for disguising the nature of their crimes and the contradictions inherent in the world they are building. The ongoing debates over the Iraq war, illegal immigration, outsourcing, free/fair trade, inflation, unemployment, saving the Internet, nuclear nonproliferation, oil prices and wiretapping/surveillance are rife with disinformation and doublespeak. The remedy for solving these problems lies in first understanding them correctly, and that requires a proper grasp of the words and concepts involved. Hijacked words and phrases are some of the state’s most powerful weapons of deception and pacification.

But Which Books Are 'Suspicious'?
by Vin Suprynowicz

We are past the point of warning that if we don’t watch out an American police state "might happen." This is precisely what it looks like. They’re taking it around the block for a test drive, and we’re supposed to believe we can trust them – we have nothing to fear so long as we haven’t done anything wrong.

Yes, but which books? Which book or magazines or newspapers are the ones that, if we borrow and read them, will lead the G-men to suspect we’ve "done something wrong"?

They don’t have to tell you. You don’t need to know.
