Does the Death Penalty ‘Prevent’ Crime?
by Jeff Adams

I am doing a research paper on the Death Penalty, and my arguments are opposite compared to yours. You, are in favor for death penalty, I;however, am against. What good is it doing to our society, to kill somebody that could be innocent of the crime? 82% of the studies say that race has an influence on who gets put to death. Until we just started using DNA many people were wrongful put to death. So basically death penalty did nothing to deter crime. I am not saying that this site is bad, it was a good source because in order to understand your own argument you also need to know the opposing. T.

This is a very difficult subject for anyone who really thinks about it rationally. To kill someone in cold blood, after the fact, should be the very last resort, if ever. I don't think we are going to find perfect answers that will fit everyone, all the time. MamaLiberty

Rape Hysteria, Redux
by Carey Roberts

I think that the VAWA has created a huge difference in the past of protecting the women and children of the U.S. from domestic violence, as well as helping to prevent future crimes. There are very few reported cases of men being sexually assaulted by women because the majority of the crimes consist of men doing the assaulting to the women. Mostly men committed horrid, power-hungry acts of sexual domestic abuse or assault against women. The programs created by the VAWA are created for very good and logical reasons. Brittney

I must conclude that you did not really read the article, and certainly none of the others on the subject available on Roberts' page - or that you are incapable of understanding the truth when you see it. The VAWA has been clearly shown to be bogus, contributing to the destruction of everyone's rights. MamaLiberty

Letter From A "Liberated" Iraqi Citizen
By Carl Worden

What occupying power has ever created a government of the occupied and trained the citizenry being occupied how to fight and armed them to defend their own country. Your comparisons don't make any sense. Jim

The whole point was that the US invaded Iraq and continues an illegal occupation. The writer of the letter wanted people to think about what they would do if their own country was likewise invaded. The US doesn't have any legitimate business in Iraq, (or any other country) period. MamaLiberty

The Victims of the Public School System Guide to the Bill of Rights
By Robert Greenslade

Mr. Greenslade, The "unreasonable search and seizure" portion of Amendment 4 allows for much abuse by those in power. It is my contention that all words following "seizure" are meant to enumerate the specific minimum safeguards necessary for any "search" to be considered "reasonable" (and thus legal). Thus, if there is not 1] "probable cause" (which can only be determined by a judge); or if no 2] "warrant" has been issued (again by a judge); which is 3] "supported by oath or affirmation" (a judge must determine if the oath of a crackhead is worth its salt); or if the 4] "person(s) or things(s) to be seized" are not "particularly" described in the warrant, the search is blatantly "unreasonable". L. M.

All that might work out if the judge was always beyond reproach, but the bottom line is that the judge works for the same people as the police, so his/her interests are those of the state, not the person being singled out. Their "compelling reason" is most often tyranny and theft. MamaLiberty
