The Coming Housing Crash

Your point of equating the housing market to gambling is fair. Would you agree the stock market is similar? If you have such a problem with Americans making money off of gambling or taking "risks" how do you think this country was founded? Every potential business owner shouldn't take on the risk or gamble on entering the market? I think you should stick to building, it's paranoid ignorance like yours which makes the "bubble" really burst. The housing market is not truly free. There is certain constraints such as land and time which restrain houses from booming and it is due to supply and demand. If you were fortunate enough to purchase and sell at the peak don't then great you just took advantage of a potentially over inflated housing market. If you bought at the peak don't rush to sell. You may take a financial hit but a house should be looked at as a long term investment and you WILL MAKE PROFIT. If everyone starts believing unsound economics as good old Bob has posted then the crash is certain to come. Dave

The point was not people taking a risk, though its pretty foolish to take a big risk with your home. The whole point is that the housing market is unstable and built on the false economy of our current socialistic society. Since the market is built on lies and false credit, it will crash hard - and soon - leaving people to pay large mortgages for houses that are worthless, or nearly so. That's the risk. MamaLiberty

Take Equity out and put in a safe saving with low risk or non Vehicle... C.

Not sure what you mean here, but my advice is to use your equity to buy something outright. The danger of the crash is in having a mortgage to pay when the property is no longer worth the amount you owe. You will still have to pay it or lose your credit and possibly most of whatever you own otherwise. MamaLiberty

This "politically correct" idea that nobody should ever be "offended" is the root of a great deal of evil. If you are offended by something, you have a choice to ignore it or think about it and see if your own premise is wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, whether it offends anybody or not. Mama - I'm very sorry to hear of your mishap. I offer what help & assistance I can, but as I am several thousand miles from you, I'm not sure there is much I can offer. At the very least, I am in possession of an extra pair of US Army surplus strap-on ice creepers, which are highly effective. I would be happy to ship them to you if they would be useful to you - just say the word. In any case, I hope all is well, and I wish you a speedy recovery! MJA

Just hearing from you helps me a great deal! I appreciate your good thoughts and wishes very much. My sister sent me a pair of studded rubber cleats for my shoes, and wishes she'd sent them a long time ago. I sure wish we could have a second chance at such things, but such is life. Quite an astute observation that the MSM is public enemy #1. But the political dimension is merely the tip of the iceberg. Precisely the same kind of analysis is required relative to the protection of the official Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious establishments. One change in doctrine would strike at the root of terrorism but would simultaneously threaten the existence of the monotheistic religious establishment itself; which is why that doctrine is censored and suppressed by the media. Those who die in the 'war against terrorism' are dying essentially to preserve the power of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim _priesthoods_. M.

I never heard such nonsense. Any religion can be used by evil people for their own ends, just as any physical item can be used for good or evil. The evil is in the minds of some men, not the thing being used. MamaLiberty

Abstinence Vs Sex Education

I am doing research for a project on abstinence only vs. sex ed programs in high schools, and I found this in one of my searches. This is one of the craziest things I have ever read. You make it sound as if young girls should be locked up and never be allowed out because they are incapable of making sound decisions around young boys. You didn't say anything about keeping sons away from girls. A.

Few people have any understanding of personal responsibility, and you're a prime example. Children must be disciplined lovingly and completely, and that includes supervision of their morals until they demonstrate their personal competence. Young people are NOT capable of making sound decisions, especially about sex because their hormones speak much louder than their minds. Unfortunately, most people in this world have been sold a bill of goods and think they can leave responsibility for their lives and morals to someone else and just do whatever they want with no consequences.
