Laying the Bricks of Blame

"Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani was everything in New York that Mayor Ray Nagin is not in New Orleans. He was decisive. He never whined or screamed for help, but was publicly and humbly grateful for it when it came. He wept at funerals and spoke eloquently at press conferences, yet he never blamed anyone but those who had actually executed the attack."

He also willingly allowed federal 'authorities' to come into his city and destroy whatever evidence may have existed to help explain some of the discrepancies between the 'official story' of the events of that day and the events that actually took place. This was the ONLY time in history that an event of this magnitude was 'investigated' by shoveling the debris into trucks and hauling it to a watery grave. His 'decisiveness' and acceptance of federal aid may have helped to cover up one of the biggest lies, and one of the worst acts of mass murder, ever committed by agents of a nation's government. There are FAR too many unexplained anomalies from that day that can NEVER be resolved since the evidence has effectively been destroyed… MJA

I think the mention of Giuliani was to point out that he didn't whine and crawl to government for "help," not that he was a paragon of virtue and did no wrong. Your remarks have been sent to the author and I'll publish any response she makes. MamaLiberty

I love the site and agree with you most of the time, but you've fallen for some of the media created myths about the aftermath of Katrina. The supposed shootings, along with the rapes and other atrocities supposedly committed around the city appear to be mostly second hand rumor, repeated enough to take on the luster of truth. If, in fact these things did take place, did they take place in any greater numbers than such things routinely take place in a city of that size? Also, at the time Homeland Security officials were not aware of conditions in the Convention Center, there had NOT been extensive TV coverage. There had been almost none. See the work of Bob Somerby in the Daily Howler, who reviewed the actual coverage, rather than what network talking heads said had been covered. As a libertarian, I'm surprised you don't place any blame at the feet of people who were foolish enough to think government would rescue them. Thanks for an excellent site! T. B.

You must not have actually read the article. Lady Liberty most certainly placed the blame squarely on those people who were unprepared to take care of themselves and depended totally on government, as well as on government that has made false promises and extorted large amounts of our wealth on the pretext of "protecting" and "helping" us. I think that you are inviting unwarranted police bashing. Had you been hit or mugged you would be complaining that the police did not respond fast enough and/or why aren't they protecting the public like they are paid to do. Ms. Dean why don't you get to know the men and woman that protect people like you and me every day without so much as a thank you. Ms. Dean I am very unimpressed. A friend to law enforcement.

You seem to be overlooking a preponderance of evidence from every corner of this country that demonstrates massive police misconduct and outright malfeasance. The right and duty of human beings is self defense and personal liberty, not "protection" like a flock of chickens. I will gratefully "thank" them when and if they simply leave me alone. MamaLiberty

Republican Presidents And War Crimes - Nothing New Here

What drivel!!! War against Mexico was declared in 1846 by James Polk, a Democrat. The Civil War was begun by Southern Democrats. America entered the First World War under Woodrow Wilson, the Second World War under Franklin Roosevelt, and the Korean War under Harry Truman, all Democrats. Kennedy and Johnson (care to guess from which party?) gave us the incomparable debacle in Viet Nam. Slavery in America was the cause celebre of Southern Democrats. All of post Civil War abuses of freed blacks including lynching, intimidation, segregation and discrimination were again at the hands of Democrats. The Democratic Party abound with such luminaries at Huey Long, Lester Maddox and George Wallace. Get your head out of your ass. Truth Seeker

Just what "truth" do you seek? The whole point of the article was that presidents from BOTH parties have started wars and committed endless crimes against America and her people. Try reading the whole thing instead of just the title. MamaLiberty

The Scott Peterson Trial Begins

We are now at Sept.23rd 2005, and I've just read your article for the first time. EXCELLENT! I completely agree with everything said, yet Scott was sentenced to the death penalty. Will you continue to speak out now? I hope and pray that you will. We can't let this continue, a man's life is at stake here. Please do another article now that the case is over, and ask those same questions of the 12 supposedly responsible Americans who voted for death strictly on emotions. Thanks. J. W.

The sad fact is that most Americans no longer understand either the law or their rights in the least. For an excellent site regarding the duty and rights of juries, go to the American Jury Institute. Be prepared to be an effective juror, and work to educate others as much as you can. MamaLiberty

America’s First Jewish President - Putting Israel First

Dear Mr. Lang. Do you have a problem with Jews in general? I think you do. In some of your articles you really try to convince yourself that not all Jews are bad. You distinguish between different types of Jews; the main distinction being the degree to which a Jew supports Israel. I believe you are saying that there are good Jews and bad Jews (to varying degrees). I have seen this caveat elsewhere on the internet - such as Jeff Rense. But in this article - 7/12/04 - you have dropped the distinction, and have called George Bush the "Jewish President", not the Zionist President, but the Jewish President. I just think that you have a real blind spot when it comes to evaluating individuals who also happen to be Jewish. Within this blind spot, all Jews, become merged into some type of non-American euro-creature. It doesn't really matter to you what kind of an American we are, we are "Other". At that point you no longer think in terms of good or bad Jews - just the "Jews", and Bush is our President. In general I find you writing informative and very interesting, and I agree with much of it, with your feelings toward Jews as an exception. I feel in general that perhaps as much as 30 percent of America feels the way you do, so I am not singling you out. Oh, and by the way, regarding the Arab hatred of the Jews, I don't feel that all Arabs hate Jews. But I have seen a 40 year old video clip of a Saudi King saying that he wished the Jews would be pushed into the sea. The US support of Israel. and Jewish-Arab conflict and hatred are not new, as you know. You mat not be anti-Semitic, or anti-Jewish if you prefer, but your one-sided portrayal of the conflict belies a certain, shall I say, delicate bias, which is perhaps at the heart of that blind spot I mentioned. I can't speak for Ted, of course, but my position on this is quite clear. Just as with those who claim not all Muslims are "radical" or work for the destruction of everyone else -- those who do not protest and work against the "radicals" must be counted in with them. Every Jewish person who says he does not support the radical Zionists must protest and work against them or be counted in with them! No different than Americans who say they do not support the imperial president and current fascist administration! If they are not loudly protesting and working to get rid of it, they must be counted in with the supporters of this evil. That's just the way it is. There are no innocent bystanders in this fight. You are either fighting evil or you are supporting it. There is no "safe" middle ground.

What are you and other "good" American Jews doing to publicity protest and defeat the Zionists who are working to destroy liberty and justice in this world? What are you doing personally to defend and preserve justice and liberty in America? Mama:Liberty
