Katrina: The Final Wave
By Lee Robinson ©2005

As the great waves from hurricane Katrina battered New Orleans, the city gradually crumbled into ruin. Walls of water breached the levees and flooded homes and businesses, toxic chemicals and raw sewage were churned into the flood, snakes and swarms of fire ants floated among the poisonous brew and the people trying to escape it. But although the situation in the south has calmed and the deluge is receding there is yet one more wave, the most powerful and far-reaching of them all that will soon break across our entire country. Its long term effects will be far more destructive to many more people than anything we have yet seen.

I am speaking of the tsunami of government laws, policies and regulations that will be rushed virtually unopposed through a legislature suddenly desperate to justify its existence. Rushed through by our internationally ridiculed, self-humiliated rulers who will now do or say anything to convince the country that this tragedy was not the result of their obvious corrupt incompetence but came about because they need to acquire greater and more specific powers. Oh yes, and more of our money. Hundreds of millions of dollars, billions more likely, to be expropriated in the interest of concealing the fact that the trillions we have already been suckered out of have apparently just vanished. How Will We Cure The Radical Feminist Cancer?
By Carey Roberts

A malignancy spreads by invading its neighboring cells, taking over their internal control processes, and inducing the cells to assume grotesque shapes and sizes.

This is an apt metaphor for radical feminism, which seduces intelligent, caring young women; plies them with warmed-over Marxist slogans; and turns them into gender crusaders who seemingly have lost all semblance of reason and compassion.

By its own admission, radical feminism seeks to curtail or destroy the most cherished values of democratic free market societies: the traditional family, limited government, and the culture of life itself. (Read the rest here)

Firms test web immigration check
Wired
"Many Americans focus on the border when they consider the fight against illegal immigration. But some experts say the real battle should be in the workplace to stop the hiring of people without work visas. Simple enough in theory, but how can you tell who's an illegal immigrant? Many companies now do little more than eyeball documents, saying they lack the expertise and resources to go any further -- and they seldom face federal sanctions. But across the country, a small group of businesses is quietly testing a Department of Homeland Security program that can check immigration status with a few clicks on the internet. The program will likely be at the heart of any federal immigration reform, even as critics say it needs improvement." (09/05/05)

Like the War on Some Drugs, the upcoming War on "Illegal Immigration" may have very far-reaching "unintended" consequences: one of which is even more government control and meddling in private business, being tested now. (Read the rest here)
