Gun Control Equals Murder

Exactly once in my life have I felt like I was two inches tall. It was about fifteen years ago, when I was in a secretary's office. While she was out of the room I looked around and saw, on her shelf, two pictures with a teen-age girl in each one. I knew them, but couldn't remember anything about them. Even stranger, they appeared to be twins. How could I completely forget two twin girls?

When the secretary returned, I commented, "I know those girls from someplace, but I can't remember where."

To this she replied, "You've seen those pictures in the newspaper. Those are my daughters, the ones who were killed on the old Chain of Rocks bridge." (Read the rest here)

Another Conspiracy Theory

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist recently revealed his true colors on the life issue when he came out strongly in support of increased federal funding for embryonic stem-cell research. As a medical doctor, Frist obviously knows that in order for this to be done, human embryos must first be destroyed (killed).

Frist's decision to support the killing of newly-conceived babies flies in the face of previous declarations on the subject. For example, Frist has been quoted as saying, "I am pro-life. I believe life begins at conception. It is at this moment that the organism is complete. An embryo is a nascent human life."

In spite of Frist's statement acknowledging the life of a human embryo, he went on to say, "I also believe that embryonic stem- cell research should be encouraged and supported." (Read the rest here)

Georgia: Pawn shop employee, burglary suspect exchange gunfire

"A pawn shop employee escaped injury in an exchange of gunfire with a burglar late Friday night, Warner Robins police say. Warner Robins police Lt. Bobby Brantley said the suspect also was not hit and fled with a stolen handgun. The suspect was interrupted by the employee who arrived at the Northside Pawnshop at 1313 Green St. just before midnight. According to a Warner Robins police news release, the employee responded to the business alarm, which automatically calls his residence when the alarm is sounded. The employee was fired upon as he entered the store and he returned fire. The employee fled the pawn shop and called 911. The suspect also fled." (08/30/05)
