The Constitution and YOU, Part 3
By Robert Greenslade © Nitwit Press

Further Proof (Part 3 of 3)
There are other aspects of the Constitution that further prove the document does not apply directly to the people of the several States, as comprising one nation. A few examples are: First, is the method of electing the President. If the Constitution pertained to the whole people, then the President would be elected directly by a majority of the American people under a national format. Instead, the President is elected by electors chosen in a manner prescribed by the legislatures of the several States under a federal format. In fact, the State legislatures have the constitutional authority to completely exclude the people of the several States from the election process by simply appointing their electors. The method of electing the President, the Electoral College, operates as an institution of the States because the President is the chief executive officer of the government of the States.

Praise For Sheriff Ron McNesby
By Chuck Baldwin

Most of us are aware of the courageous stand taken by former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore. At issue was the fundamental right of citizens and states to publicly acknowledge God and an odious, overbearing federal judge's (successful) attempt to deny that right. The propensity of the federal government to circumvent the Constitution and to interpolate its will over states and local governments is nothing new. Can anyone say, "Hoorah for the Bonnie Blue Flag!"?

Since the Confederacy fell to the Union in 1865, the federal government has become a gargantuan leviathan that has time and again forced its will upon states and local communities. Unfortunately, there seems to be no end in sight. Those state and local officials who attempt to honor their oaths of office continue to find themselves suffering the wrath and ire of pompous and powerful federal officials. (Read the rest here)

Rally is in full swing, and the Black Hills are full of a half-million bikers, on everything from Honda CT110s to 1250cc Harleys, and in everything from full-leathers and full-faceplate helmets to, well, not too much at all! I'm not riding a bike, but I am back on my hobbyhorse, again - so much more "theft-by-government" to talk about!

Seattle mayor proposes developer fee to fund parks
Seattle Times
Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels announced a proposal that would require developers to contribute money for parks and public open space. According to the Seattle Times, Nickels is considering charging $1 to $2 per square foot on new projects in the city's most crowded neighborhoods.

So the city will charge you another $2000 or so for your house, so that you can "enjoy" parks and open space, whether you use them or not.

Mama's Note: In many places, this is already mandated and unavoidable. It is one of the reasons there are too few homes within the price range of young families. They tend to stay crowded into inner city slums with little hope of getting out. Government mandates like this usually are counterproductive, and this is one of the best examples.
