10 , 2005 How much does it cost to go through the process of adding another amendment to the Constitution? E. What it might cost in money is insignificant compared to what it would cost us in liberty. With the present level of political corruption in both state and federal governments today, any tampering with the Constitution would be far more likely to eliminate the last shred of our liberty and heritage. I'd say it is far better they leave it alone. Of course, none of them are allowing the Constitution or any other repository of wisdom to hold them back from destroying this country altogether. We don't have much longer. MamaLiberty Churches
and Concealed Carry "The Bill of Rights, along with the rest of the Constitution, applies to the federal government, and no other entity - not even the States, regardless of what the apologists for that illegal, ungratified tripe have to say. H. S." In my opinion, this is completely false. The Bill of Rights, although overtly aimed at governments, applies to all persons upon the planet. NO ONE may abuse my God-given, inalienable rights; not a government agent, not a justice of the courts, and certainly not my neighbor or church leader. Nowhere in the Bill of Bights does it specifically single-out government as the target of the enumerated prohibitions. MJA The rights are God given and universal, but are not dependent in any way on the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights was written specifically and ONLY to limit the power of the Federal Government so that these rights would not be violated. The fact that government has chosen to ignore this doesn't change the fact. MamaLiberty
