It is the Duty of the States to Protect Your Rights
By Robert Greenslade © Nitwit Press

In an attempt to gain some insight into the political mindset of the American people, I regularly listen to talk radio. Not only are many of these shows interesting and thought provoking but they cover a wide rage of issues that never reach the editorial page of my local newspaper. But what intrigues me most are the assertions made by hosts and their callers concerning the Constitution because these comments reflect the general level of knowledge among the American people concerning our system of government.

During discussions on the Constitution, it is continually asserted, by host and caller alike, that the document was adopted to protect the individual rights of the American people and the federal government was entrusted with duty of securing these rights. This belief is repeated over and over and appears to be commonplace among the American people. In reality, under the structure of government established by the Constitution, it is the duty of the States, not the federal government, to protect the individual rights of the people. Butler: No Bush Manservant
By Ted Lang © 2004

As it becomes increasingly apparent that our so-called president is an incompetent, untalented cutout unable to handle real press interviews or debates without an earpiece connected to a hidden offstage handler, focus must now be redirected to the destruction being wrought on America by the criminal Bush regime and those who are actually running the secret government of the United States. Why are these secret behind-the-scenes Bush handlers and controllers doing absolutely everything possible to bring down further our once great nation?

As we examine the motives of Bush's secret controllers, we need to ask as well why was such an untalented chump selected in the first place? What credentials could possibly have motivated the rich and powerful military/industrial complex corporate interests to pick this smirking chimp so terrified of real reporters? (Read the rest here)

Libertarian Commentary on The News
By Nathan A. Barton © 2005

If the immoral and evil decision by the Supreme Court several weeks ago regarding medical cannabis was the death knell of the American constitutional experiment, today's announcement of the Supreme Court decision regarding government stealing whatever it wants is the burial of the corpse:

A divided Supreme Court ruled that local governments may seize people's homes and businesses against their will for private development in a decision anxiously awaited in communities where economic growth conflicts with individual property rights. Thursday's 5-4 ruling represented a defeat for some Connecticut residents whose homes are slated for destruction to make room for an office complex. They argued that cities have no right to take their land except for projects with a clear public use, such as roads or schools, or to revitalize blighted areas. As a result, cities now have wide power to bulldoze residences for projects such as shopping malls and hotel complexes in order to generate tax revenue. (Read the rest here)
