When It Is Time To Hang The Christians...
By Doug Newman

Lenin once remarked that, “When it is time to hang the capitalists, they will sell us the rope.” Westerners, he maintained, were so naïve about his intentions that they would provide him the means to destroy them.

Some latter day Lenin, scheming to usher in a one-world government, must, at this point, be thinking that, “When it is time to hang the Christians, they will sell us the rope.” Too many American Christians in the year 2005 say nothing and do nothing while their government rages out of control domestically and surrenders our sovereignty to the New World Order.

They sin by silence. When totalitarianism comes to America, Christians will be far more to blame than the ACLU. Although I wish this thought were my own, I read it recently in a wonderful essay by J. Burke. (Read the rest here)

Fear: The Foundation of Every Government's Power
By Robert Higgs

[S]ince love and fear can hardly exist together, if we must choose between them, it is far safer to be feared than loved.
—Niccolò Machiavelli, The Prince, 1513

All animals experience fear—human beings, perhaps, most of all. Any animal incapable of fear would have been hard pressed to survive, regardless of its size, speed, or other attributes. Fear alerts us to dangers that threaten our well-being and sometimes our very lives. Sensing fear, we respond by running away, by hiding, or by preparing to ward off the danger.

To disregard fear is to place ourselves in possibly mortal jeopardy. Even the man who acts heroically on the battlefield, if he is honest, admits that he is scared. To tell people not to be afraid is to give them advice that they cannot take. Our evolved physiological makeup disposes us to fear all sorts of actual and potential threats, even those that exist only in our imagination. (Read the rest here)

America Can Be Saved! - Bush Must Be Impeached
By Ted Lang © 2004

The sacrifice of America's economy, international prestige, its military and its honor via the Bush administration's self-destructive lust to bolster Israel's military posture in the Middle East to assure the mutual benefit of total access and control of its oil, is becoming painfully and increasingly more obvious with the passing of each day of the Iraqi Holocaust.

The Israel-first agenda has not only sacrificed these aforementioned and formerly unique assets of American prestige, but is decimating as well all entities that align with it. The so-called corporate mainstream media Limbaugh describes as "liberal," as well as the entire Democratic Party, are rapidly falling by the wayside as a direct result of this self-destructive foreign policy, a policy supportive of the Bush family's ultimate goal: "The New World Order." Nathan is back at last!!
Libertarian Commentary on The News
By Nathan A. Barton © 2004

Well, let us start the day out with an unusual item of interest. But most of the day's stories seem to be more like "Back to the Future" so I'll use that as the day's theme. Don't forget, this is MY opinion, not necessarily yours or anyone else's (including anyone associated with this website, the news sites, or the local recycling site); but I would be glad to hear you tell me why I am wrong!

UK: Mystery of the Piano Man
from Ananova [UK]
"A man who hasn't said a word since he was found wandering in a wet black suit stunned cabers (caregivers) by giving a virtuoso piano performance. The man has not spoken since he was picked up by police in Sheerness, Kent, six weeks ago. His talent came to light after staff at the Medway Maritime Hospital gave the man a pen and paper in the hope he would write his name. Instead, he drew detailed pictures of a grand piano so workers sat him in front of the piano in the hospital's chapel. Social worker Michael Camp said: "It is extraordinary. The first time we took him down to the piano he played for several hours, nonstop." Several lines of inquiry have been followed, and the hospital brought in interpreters to see if the mystery patient was from Eastern Europe." (05/16/05)

Maybe he isn't the incompetent that people are assuming - after all, many people go through life without saying anything, or at least, not anything anyone listens to. It seems to me that if this man can play the piano like this, he doesn't need to be locked up in an institution: he might need someone to take a bit of care of him, but not incarceration.

Mama's Note: I suspect this man has either had a brain injury of some kind, or is suffering from shock. I also suspect that someone, somewhere is desperately looking for him. Let's hope this publicity will help them find him. Many people who wind up in skid row missions and the like aren't there because of alcoholism, etc., but simply by unfortunate chance. We should never judge people by appearances only. God bless him, and I hope he is found by his own people soon. (Read the rest here)
