Act of War - 9-11 It has been termed a "terrorist act," and unquestionably, it was. What is questionable, however, is its having been a possible act of treason, even if prescience and the resultant failure to act upon such foreknowledge may be better described as a product of general incompetence, readily and consistently attributable to government. But what the "terrorist acts" of September 11, 2001 are beginning to emerge as, are a series of prearranged events, planned and executed at the highest levels of government within the Bush administration. Before the articles and events providing the most recent evidence can be assembled to logically provide the circumstantial tie-ins that are so vital in making such an "astonishingly absurd accusation," a trip back through history might prove valuable in analyzing similar events. Happened To Sugar And Spice And Everything Nice? Last week's column, A Rash of Feminist Hate Speech, triggered a spirited debate. One wag quipped, "What do you suppose would be the reaction if a group of men got together on a college campus and started talking this way about women?" Another opined that Catherine MacKinnon and her crew sound "exactly like the KKK." Of course, feminists flamed the article, trying to make the case that female bigotry is a justifiable, even courageous act of self-empowerment. Scary. A few years ago Dale O'Leary wrote an article with the provocative title, "Radical Feminism as a Psychological Disorder." Ms. O'Leary concluded that women who are deeply committed to feminist ideology "are seriously psychologically troubled." (Read the rest here)

Confession, Like Pulling Teeth Marilyn Moon was one of the two public trustees of the Social Security trust fund. She held office from 1996 through 2000 under the Clinton administration. On Thursday, April 15, 1999, Marilyn Moon appeared before the House Sub Committee on Social Security and the following dialog took place between Clay Shaw, Chairman of the Sub Committee and Ms. Moon: Chairman Shaw: But from the cash flow situation, would the result be any different as far as the cash flow with or without the trust fund? Ms. Moon: In terms of the cash flow? Im not sure exactly what youre asking. I am a believer in the trust fund, which probably is rational since Im a public trustee. I believe these are promises to pay that are taken seriously and that are an important contribution to try to erase the burden into the future. (Read the rest here)
