March 10, 2005 I have this theory. I have lots of theories, most of which don't make much sense even to me, but I have this one theory in particular that most of the trouble in the world is caused by people not minding their own business. When people stick their noses in other people's business, it's because they think they are right and the other people are wrong. Specifically, what they do is blame their problems on other people. It's the flip side of the same coin: not minding your own business always involves blaming your problems on other people. It reminds me of the old saying about people ignoring the log in their eye while obsessing about the speck in someone else's. Everyone in the world wants to blame their problems on others. It's the first thing children do. It's been noticed in the story of the Garden of Eden, which is who knows how many thousands of years old. It just might be the first defense that everyone engages in. (Read the rest here)

Her coworkers in the kitchen area have to deal with fryer's, microwaves, ovens and broilers that are close to twenty years old. With all these difficulties, an average order takes fifteen minutes to complete and customer's complaints are endless. But even those toiling in the hot kitchen are thankful for their jobs, especially considering the unemployment rate has just climbed to over 25 percent. (Short story) (Read the rest here)

Gun enthusiasts push public school training Mama's Note: Better than nothing. The parents of these children should be doing that teaching, from the moment a child is old enough to pick up that much weight. It's almost impossible to start that teaching too early.
