Destroying America - Job One In Establishing NWO
By Ted Lang © 2004

It has been previously written about, and much discussed – there appears to be a movement in the United States, within the United Nations, and evidenced by the European Union, to create a "New World Order." Conspiracy theories abound, most evolving around the Rothschild-Rockefeller international banking conclave and manifesting themselves overtly in the Trilateral Commission, Council of Foreign Relations and Bilderberg. The bankers are commonly referred to as "The Illuminati," and are devoted to the concept of Zionist internationalism.

A strong indication that some sort of conspiracy exists, or at least that a well-coordinated and harmonically orchestrated series of seemingly coincidental international actions and events occur within some pre-arranged design, thereby providing recurring and consistent evidence of the real likelihood of such a conspiracy's existence. Clearly, such conspiracy is hard to prove unless a key member within it exposes the plot. It is always an insider's breaking ranks that exposes detrimental plotting and planning within a tightly-knit group. (Read the rest here)

The "Oil-for-Food" Smokescreen
By Jacob G. Hornberger

Are you familiar with the big “shock” that neoconservatives have experienced over the financial scandal arising out of the infamous “oil-for-food” program, which was the subject of an investigative report recently issued by former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volker?

The oil-for-food program was the government program established in 1995 by U.S. officials and UN officials to alleviate the horrific suffering of the Iraqi people arising out of the brutal system of sanctions that the U.S. government and the UN imposed against the Iraqi people in 1991 and which lasted for more than a decade.

While the ostensible goal of the sanctions was to “disarm” Saddam Hussein of the weapons of mass destruction that the United States and other Western countries had furnished him during the 1980s, the real reason for the sanctions was to oust Saddam from power and replace his regime with one more palatable to the U.S. government. As the New York Times reported on May 21, 1991, “President Bush said today that the United States would oppose the lifting of the worldwide ban against trading with Iraq until President Saddam Hussein is forced out of power in Baghdad.” (Read the rest here)

Libertarian Commentary on The News
By Nathan A. Barton © 2004

Now that we are officially into Lent, let us see if we can reflect on the things not the way they should be, and what WE can do as individual free lovers of liberty to fix them. Of course, that is assuming that we CAN fix things - but my opinion (like this entire column, not necessarily anyone else's) is that we can, even in small ways, help. I'll start out with some good news.

US to reduce troops in Iraq
Spacewar.com
The number of US troops in Iraq will be reduced, after having been increased ahead of the January 30 elections, said Lieutenant General Lance Smith, deputy commander of the US Central Command in Iraq. "We should be at pre-election levels in spring," Smith told reporters at the Pentagon. Smith indicated that military personnel in Iraq would be cut by roughly 13,000 to 19,000 soldiers, to between 135,000 and 140,000, the level maintained before the runup to the election.

Well, what have we here? This seems to have been overlooked by the mainstream press, and it is certainly good news all the way around. The more troops we can bring home, the better, as long as we don't leave a mess behind, and kill even more people as a result. See the rest of the "Mideast tarbabies" news at the end of the column, as usual.
