The Real Crisis Of Social Security

Is Social Security in crisis? You bet it is. But it’s not the crisis everyone else is talking about. And its not a crisis that will occur sometime in the future. It’s happening right now, today.

The crisis is a management that walks off with the money, steals the profits, spends these surpluses wherever it pleases and then demands that the taxpaying public replace them plus interest. Why do you think the Social Security trust fund is 22 percent of the national debt now standing at practically $1.7 trillion in debt markers that only the taxpaying public can redeem? And we are the people who provided this extra money in the first place. That’s double taxation no matter how you look at it. (Read the rest here)

"Neal Knox, former vice president of the National Rifle Association and longtime leader of the gun rights movement, died at his home on January 17, 2005 following a yearlong battle with colon cancer. He was sixty-nine. He is survived by his wife, Jay Janen Knox (Shirley) and his four children; Christopher, Shan, Jeffrey, Stacey, and seven grandchildren." (01/18/05)

E-mails had been flashing around warning that Neal was nearing his end - my sympathy to his family on their loss. The best memorial he can have is the continuing right to defend ourselves, as he refers to in his farewell letter. I never met him here on earth, but expect to enjoy visiting with him in Heaven.
