Libertarian Commentary on The News

The cause of freedom has ALWAYS depended on individuals, working together perhaps (almost always in small groups) but on a voluntary basis. With the technology of 2005, we can see that working in small groups, cooperating between each other voluntarily, is easier than ever, and that the effort of volunteers and peaceful people working together cooperatively, rather than by coercion, does make more sense.

Pew study: Blogs busted out in 2004
Last year proved big for blogs and bloggers, according to data released from The Pew Internet & American Life Project. Blog readership jumped 58 percent between February and November, and comprised 32 million U.S. citizens in 2004. More than 8 million U.S. Citizens have created a Web-based diary, and one in 10, or around 14 million U.S. Internet users, has contributed thoughts or comments to a blog.

This is very interesting data, and an excellent example of small-group efforts, made possible by technology. This is, for example, improving the sharing and review of scientific research (the original purpose for DARPA-Net, which we now call the Internet). It can work just as well for political, military, and other efforts. (Read the rest of the Commentary here)

Men, Step Aside - The Rad-Fems Are Set To Win The Culture War

If you want to understand the Culture War, you need to appreciate the ideology, methods, and goals of radical feminism. And to understand feminism, you must understand Marxist philosophy and the history of the Soviet Union. On this last point, I recommend Joshua Muravchik’s highly-readable book, Heaven on Earth.

Future historians will note the Culture War took an important turn in the November 2 elections. Sensing their political standing was on the wane, the Leftists decided to pull out all the stops in a last-ditch effort to reverse the course of history. Of course they lost the gamble, and now the Leftists are seething with bitterness and rage. (Read the rest here)
