The Unfolding Aids Scandal At The UN

December 1 is World AIDS Day and the focus this year is on women and girls. That's good, because almost half of all HIV-infected persons in the world are female. But if you are a woman who is concerned about HIV infection, I'd suggest you avoid the UNAIDS program like the plague. Why? Because their advice just might kill you.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

As we know, there is no vaccine or drug that can stop AIDS. But there is one proven strategy. That approach, which is backed by the Bush Administration, is known as "ABC." A stands for Abstinence, B means Be faithful, and C refers to Condoms.

The ABC concept has been implemented in Uganda over the past 15 years. There, a massive public education campaign was mounted. Billboard signs admonished would-be adulterers, "No Grazing." And religious organizations were tapped to play key roles (sorry about that, ACLU). (Read the rest here)

The most surprising aspect of the recent ballyhooed recall of the arthritis drug Vioxx from the prescription drug market by its manufacturer, Merck & Company, is that there was absolutely no involvement by either the Food and Drug Administration or the Federal Trade Commission. This is in and of itself almost miraculous! What are brainwashed Americans to conclude other than the high level of ethics on the part of the humongous crony corporations of the pharmaceutical industry?

But if one were to read Kevin Trudeau's book, "Natural Cures ‘They' Don't Want You to Know About," a lot more clarity would surface as regards this wondrous event. Trudeau is an FDA-maligned crusader in the shaping battle of those mustering in defiance of the growing federally-supported threat of the American drug cartel: the FDA, FTC, pharmaceutical industry, Madison Avenue, and of course, that great nemesis of an American free society, the media. The FDA has promoted fraudulent disinformation in contending that cheaper drugs from Canada are unsafe, obviously to protect the interests of the pharmaceutical industry as opposed to those of the American consumer. Too many people expect others to defend their rights and liberties - rather than take responsibility for their own lives and freedom. And too many people, sadly, enjoy power and control over others - provided they aren’t responsible for those people in any other way. Both groups of people make it hard for the rest of us, as we see in a number of news items today. Outgoing president hints at Ukraine re-vote

"Facing a relentless tide of opposition protests, embattled President Leonid Kuchma said Monday that a new election might be the only way out of a spiraling crisis that threatens to break up this former Soviet republic between the pro-Russia east and the Western-leaning rest of Ukraine. ... Kuchma -- who along with the Kremlin has staunchly supported the official winner of the disputed Nov. 21 runoff, his Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych -- has called for compromise throughout the standoff but had not previously endorsed another vote. 'If we really want to preserve peace and harmony, if we really want to build a democratic state ... let's hold new elections,' said Kuchma, who did not seek another term." (11/30/04)

A voice of reason - but also an attempt to cover up a mess. Apologists for both sides are coming out now to claim right is “on our side.” The fact is, it appears that Ukraine indeed faces what the USA was claimed to face at the beginning of this month - a election which was very nearly stolen. It also faces (unlike the USA) the prospect of armed revolt, not just re-vote, and once more, the wisdom of having an armed and vigilant electorate is seen. (Read the rest here)
