November 24, 2004 MAD =MADMAN for AMERICAS DESTRUCTION Want to see Americans run away in sheer terror? Want to know what really scares them senseless in the land of decree and the home of depraved? Try going at them with numbers! Americans are absolutely terrified of numbers, and anything that relates to them! Want proof? Just approach any American, look them right in the eye, and say the number, 1040! Americans are terrified of the IRS and their unlimited power to seize, kill and destroy. Bill of Rights protections? Senator Upchuck Schumer had it right: The Second Amendment [and therefore the entire Bill of Rights] is a myth! The Second Amendment allows citizen force to stand up to government force thereby ensuring our protections under the Bill of Rights. Now you show me where and when any government anywhere was gracious enough to allow its citizens arms, excepting of course the major sovereignties of Switzerland and Iraq. (Read the rest here)
The Tax Man
Cometh I'm
very sorry to be correct on yet another prediction I made several moons
ago: The IRS is ratcheting up its audits in order to pay for Bush's
massive war debt. According to a 11/19/04 Associated Press article written
by reporter Mary Dalrymple, the IRS increased its audits of "wealthy"
taxpayers this year, and collected a record $43 BILLION dollars in unpaid
taxes. They are so proud of their achievement, they are asking Congress
to grant them an additional $500 million dollars to "expand efforts
to track down tax evaders".
Social
Security - Is The Battle Renewed? The propagandists tell us “surpluses are gone.” Yet, despite unemployment (fewer contributors) and people accepting lower paying jobs (lower payroll tax receipts) Social Security still managed to produce a $71 billion excess in fiscal 2004. In more prosperous years, it has been as much as $98.7 billion. The federal government spends this money as fast as it comes in. Then they ask us to believe the impossible. They ask us to believe that the same money can be both spent and saved. Pretending that they’ve merely “borrowed” or “invested” our retirement money, they place special obligation nonmarketable Treasury bonds in so-called “trust funds.” These are accounts that are part of the national debt and you might correctly ask; what good is a trust fund that holds nothing but debt? Social Security alone now accounts for more than twenty-two percent of the national debt. (Read the rest here)
Looking
For Health - Naturally Every once in a while I see a news story about the coming "doctor shortage". There are millions of people getting ever closer to the end of their life, a time when most people need medical care the most. But if you, like me, look at the yellow pages in the phone book and think of the incredible numbers of doctors of all kinds available, it's hard to imagine a shortage. That shortage just might not be a figment of some reporter's imagination, however. There are two things driving the coming problem, and the increased number of elderly people is only a small part of one of them, much as the newspapers love to punch your hot button by using the "baby boomer" label for their nonsense. So, what is the real problem? Government, of course. While everyone was arguing the relative merits of socialized medicine and "national health care", our medical system became almost totally socialized without most people being aware... except most of the doctors and many other health care professionals. Libertarian
Commentary on The Day's News for Wednesday My apologies to my readers and to Mama Liberty for missing things yesterday - I was supposed to be on the road for 13 hours, and it turned out to be closer to 16 with weather and traffic and such! So rather than getting the commentary done yesterday evening, I well, I drove and then, I slept! But once more, today, you shall be inflicted by my views and opinions on the day's (and some of this weekend's) news - not necessarily anything else. Also I claim all mistakes made by the subconscious mind to be purely my own (subconscious, that is) and not necessarily anyone else's! Afghanistan:
