November 23, 2004 In the April, 2004 attack on Falluja, which ended after 3 weeks in defeat of the "coalition" forces: U.S. forces bombed the power plant at the beginning of the assault; ...The town was placed under siege; the ban on bringing in food, medicine, and other basic items was broken only when Iraqis en masse challenged the roadblocks. ... After initial instances in which people were prevented from leaving, U.S. forces began allowing everyone to leave except for what they called "military age males," men usually between 15 and 60. Keeping noncombatants from leaving a place under bombardment is a violation of the laws of war.
In God We
Trust... ...but apparently in almost nobody else. In fact, pervasive distrust has become just about universal. Consider: Families worried in an age of excited TV and Internet reports on child molestation and other sex crimes are more and more inclined to look into the past history of that new neighbor or the guy down the block who waves to their kids whenever he passes the playground. Despite cries of invasion of privacy from various civil liberties groups, myriad online resources exist for the concerned parent not least of which is the centralized Sex Offender Registry Information Center. Of all people, we should each of us trust our doctors. But when a doctor tells us something we don't want to hear, rather than proceeding with some course of treatment many of us get a second opinion, thank you very much. And when it comes to our confidential medical information, those of us concerned with the privacy of our most personal information may conceal or even overtly lie so that it won't show up in medical records that aren't kept truly secure (if you think HIPAA offers any significant protection, you might want to think again). Media Propaganda-Phase II- Preparations For Attack On Iran Are you ready for some more bloodshed? Pop the corn and pass down a cool one! Amerika and its partner in war crimes, Israel, are getting ready to sock it to Iran. Shortly before this worse than disgustingly useless farce we just participated in, hyped as a national presidential election, our government of razor wire mentality shipped specially designed long-distance F-16 Fighting Falcon jets to Israel. And as usual, these heavy duty F-16 fighter planes of superior design and capability when compared to those of our own Air Force were purchased by Israel with our tax money. This hideously dangerous arrangement was followed by our selling at least 500 blockbuster super bombs to them, again in all likelihood, purchased by the American people as a gift to Israel. Of course, we could construe this as sort of an early Christmas present, but that frame of reference wouldnt fly with the ADL and the ACLU. Certainly, it doesnt take a graduate strategist from the War College to imagine why Israel is now in receipt of this heavy-duty blitzkrieg equipment. (Read the rest here)
U.S.
Policy Harms Prospects for Middle East Peace President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon have finally gotten their wish: Yasir Arafat, their long-time nemesis, has passed from the scene. In their minds, Arafats death brings exciting new possibilities for U.S. and Israeli policy gains in the Middle East peace process. They believe that the new Palestinian leadersthe more moderate Mahmoud Abbas and Ahmed Qureiwill be more compliant and malleable than Arafat. The president and prime minister are certainly right about that. But the problem is that Abbas and Qurei have no support among the increasingly angry young men of Palestine and have little control over their more violent actions. Conflict is likely between the militants in Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Al Aksa Martyrs Brigade and the more moderate faction of the two new Palestinian leaders because they are rivals for influence in the Palestinian movement and have differing views about policy toward Israel. Recently, in a demonstration of the perilous position of Abbas and Qurei, Palestinian radicals fired gunshots in the vicinity of Abbas. (Read the rest here)

Commentary on The Day's News How long can a person remain free if they are in debt? And how about a nation? Not very long - and it is worse for a nation than for an individual, since the debt enslavement of a nation inevitably enslaves most (if not all) of its citizens. Of course, many people do not share that opinion - but then, neither do many people understand finance or probability, based on how many lottery tickets get sold each day. Well, their opinion may be as bad as their math. And so may mine - although I dont claim (unlike our esteemed political leaders) to speak for anyone else! Domestic

ACTION
NEEDED! Action now needed immediately in HOUSE OF REPRESENATIVES in addition to Senate.
AAPS member of Congress makes another bid to stop mandatory psychiatric screening.
Urge your Representative to sign letter by FRIDAY Nov. 12. Last September, AAPS lifetime member, Congressman Ron Paul, M.D. (R-TX) tried to stop this insidious plan by offering an amendment to the Labor, HHS, and Education Appropriations Act for FY 2005. The amendment received 95 "yes" votes, but it failed to pass. So the House version of the bill passed.
However, Congressman Paul and several of his colleagues are not giving up. · Please forward this message to everyone. (Read the rest here)
