It's Boo-Hoo Time At Abortion Central
By Carey Roberts

What has become of all the strong women? At the N.O.W. headquarters, all the girls were wailing in disbelief. At the Feminist Majority, everyone's mascara had to be redone. And First-Lady-in-waiting Teresa was left speechless.

The 2004 presidential election was not just a setback for the Democratic Party. Candidate Kerry repeatedly promised to appoint pro-abortion judges to the Supreme Court and to eliminate the so-called gender “wage gap.” So Kerry’s defeat also represented a repudiation of the rad-fem agenda. Libertarian Commentary on The Day's News
By Nathan A. Barton © 2004

Well, FND is back, edited by the same folks as RRND, and there are some differences (although not much, this first issue) between the two. I miss the choice (and the insight gained from two very different editorial teams) of the two, but don’t know if I like this yet - it is like the merger of two urban newspapers into a single one: you lose something in a transition like this. I’ll wait and see before I decide; and will pick and choose what stories to comment on, as I have been during the hiatus of FND. But welcome back, FND! (My opinion, please note - not necessarily anyone else’s!)
How do I pick stories to comment on? First, I encourage folks to send them to me - many follow Knights of Non-Aggression do so. I try to pick those that deal with freedom - I’m not much into celebrity or sports or war news, unless there is a direct connection to liberty, and unless I can comment intelligently (my definition, not necessarily yours!).

The Army's long arm
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Three years after he was honorably discharged from the Army, Frederick Pistorius was surprised to learn he was a deserter. (11/14/04)

This article is being circulated as proof that the military draft is just a few heartbeats away, as the Army rounds up people with prior military obligations not yet served (or through mistakes, like this poor guy, people who have but the records get messed up). This story is nothing more than proof that the military forces, like the rest of government, are all too often a fouled-up bureaucracy that mistreats its own people and lacks common sense - not evidence of a master plot to induct millions of people into involuntary servitude. The military bureaucracy is bad, and idiotic, and just plain goofy many times, and what happened to this family (and the others in the story) is wrong, and bad, and… will happen again and again. Even a completely voluntary and libertarian military, I dare say, will have mistakes like this where people don’t get paid, and get blamed for things they didn’t do, and get jerked around, just as private business has been known to do, once or twice (grin?).

ACTION NEEDED!
Tell Congress To "Just Say No!"
To Universal Psychiatric Screening And Drugging Children

Action now needed immediately in HOUSE OF REPRESENATIVES in addition to Senate.

AAPS member of Congress makes another bid to stop mandatory psychiatric screening.

Urge your Representative to sign letter by FRIDAY Nov. 12.

Last September, AAPS lifetime member, Congressman Ron Paul, M.D. (R-TX) tried to stop this insidious plan by offering an amendment to the Labor, HHS, and Education Appropriations Act for FY 2005. The amendment received 95 "yes" votes, but it failed to pass. So the House version of the bill passed.

However, Congressman Paul and several of his colleagues are not giving up.
