NASCAR Dads And Soccer Moms Join Forces, But At What Cost?

Following last week’s historic defeat for the Democrats, pollster Celinda Lake was surely wagging her finger as if to say, “I told you so!” Because just last Spring, Ms. Lake was preaching that the Dems would never retake the White House unless they began to take the issues of the white male electorate – the so-called NASCAR Dads -- more seriously.

Indeed, white men represent a sizeable chunk of the U.S. electorate -- 45 million voters to be exact. Back in 2000, 60% of them voted for George W., while only 36% gave the nod to Al Gore. Those additional 11 million male voters spelled the critical difference for Mr. Bush in that tight contest. (Read the rest here)

Know Your Enemy - Missing Parts Of Usama's Speech

Again, the ability of American intelligence and news is suspicious. On Friday, October 29th, Usama bin Laden appeared on Al Jazeera television with a speech to the American people.

Excerpts and snippets of this tape have been shown and debated throughout the American press and media with discussion ranging from why it was delivered just days before elections to how healthy and “tanned” Usama appears. For awhile, some even questioned the authenticity of this tape, whether it was recent, or possibly made by a look alike stand-in. At least it was questioned until the contents made it obvious Usama was talking about several recent events.

Take the Constitution Seriously in the Second Term

Should President Bush declare a mandate and push ahead with his agenda or extend an olive branch of conciliation to his opponents?

This is a typical false alternative that American politics often presents. He should do neither. Instead, he should do what on January 20 he will declare he is obligated to do.

On Inauguration Day he will swear, as the U.S. Constitutions prescribes, that he will “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of [his] Ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” He should refuse to do anything else. That will keep him busy enough the next four years. (Read the rest here)

How fares the future of American liberty? Well, with the departure of Mr. Ashcroft, there is a chance (a chance, mind you) that things might be better. Like his predecessor, the unlamented Ms. Reno, he proved to be no friend of liberty, and the Bloody Tuesday attacks proved him to be a worthy successor of Abraham Lincoln, Marshal Petain, and perhaps even Oliver Cromwell (as viewed by the Irish). At least that’s my opinion, and not necessarily yours or anyone else’s associated with TPoL or RRND - but let me hear from you!

French dig in near home of Ivory Coast leader

"French armored vehicles took up positions near the home of Ivory Coast's president today, and thousands of his supporters marched on the site, fearing an attempt to oust him as France clamped down on violence in its former West African colony. The commanders of Ivory Coast and French forces appeared jointly on state television to appeal for calm. Earlier, French troops fired warning shots to ward off the surging, chanting throngs filling the streets around the home of President Laurent Gbagbo." (11/08/04)

As France continues to again demonstrate that it has only changed, not freed, its overseas empire, their hypocrisy continues to be more and more apparent. (Read the rest here)
