Fallujah: The Iraqi Alamo
By Carl F. Worden

Our military forces are about to attack the Iraq city of Fallujah, a stronghold of Iraqi resistance to the American and Coalition forces occupying Iraq. Previously, Coalition attempts to take Fallujah met with such fierce resistance that the U.S. Marines were forced to withdraw. Our forces have regrouped and are now setting up to annihilate everyone remaining in the city.

In preparation for this attack, women and children have been encouraged to vacate Fallujah, while Coalition warplanes have been softening up identified Resistance targets. All men under the age of 45 trying to leave Fallujah are being arrested as suspected Resistance fighters. The others are hunkered down in the city, preparing defenses and awaiting the inevitable attack. Just like the Alamo. (Read the rest here)

Libertarian Commentary on The Day's News
By Nathan A. Barton © 2004

Well, today RRND resumed their usual excellent news coverage, but with Steve at the helm. (Hint to Steve: regular 99c jelly beans are enough for those guards at the Missouri border to get them to keep Tom out – don't waste the Jellybellies ™ on them.)

01 - With Bush win, justice may resign
Richmond Times-Dispatch
"President Bush's reelection makes it more likely Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist will retire soon. And Republican gains in the Senate mean the president has more flexibility to nominate another strong conservative to fill that vacancy and other federal judgeships. There has been no turnover at the Supreme Court in more than a decade, but a shakeup appears imminent now that Rehnquist is seriously ill with cancer." (11/05/04)
