There Is A Terrorist Threat in America
By Carl F. Worden

American people: I don't know Joe, but he and I share the same soul. I've tried in vain to warn my fellow Americans that when a nation sins, God deals with it nationally. Until Election Day yesterday, we the people could claim we elected the wrong government, but that meant we had a duty to make it right. We didn't.

Now the whole world knows it was a mistake to merely dislike our president, but love the American people. We are now an entirely vile nation in their eyes, not to mention how we must appear to God. Internationally, we're pretty much on our own. As of yesterday, THERE IS A TERRORIST THREAT in America. (Read the rest here)

All Hail To The Panderer-In-Chief
By Carey Roberts

The polls have closed, President George Bush garnered 51% of the popular vote, and the Republicans consolidated their hold on the U.S. Congress. The 2004 presidential campaign will be remembered for many things, including the fact that the female electorate became the most attended-to group in the history of American politics.

It was a reprise of the timeless story of the two hopeful suitors competing for the affections of the fair maiden. (Read the rest here)

Election Reflection and Beyond - The House Bush Built
By Ted Lang © 2004

It was immediately apparent that this election was going to be a very different one. I was at the polls just shortly after 6:00 a.m., and the place was already jumping. I am an early riser, and apparently so are a lot of other people in my small town; that, or everyone was chomping at the bit to get this highly charged and emotional election over with as soon as possible. National Debt Tax - The Silence Is Deafening
By Ed Henry

If you could travel back in time to the birth of Christ, the beginning of the Gregorian calendar, and could set aside $1,350,000 ($1.35 million) every day of every week, every day of every month, and every day of every year right up to today – you still wouldn’t have enough to pay off the trillion dollars George W. Bush has run up the national debt in the last eighteen months.

Forget getting rid of the entire national debt. That would take more than seven million a day over the same time period. I’m just talking about the amount Bush has added to our future taxes during the last year and a half. (Read the rest here)

Libertarian Commentary on The Day's News
By Nathan A. Barton © 2004

Well, it's OVER! At least the ads and the phone calls and the e-mails, and all the rest… And apparently the lawsuits will be of a nuisance nature (like Kerry terrorists) and not a major problem.

With the election over, what are we in for? Another two years of unified-party rule, certainly. Will even this victory (series of victories), however, make the GOP act more like the majority party and less willing to compromise what are supposedly deeply-held principles in return for "cooperation?" Will the Democratic Party implode, turning on itself and its leaders in a spasm of self-criticism – becoming more radically liberal? Or will Mrs. Clinton take over as she prepares for her own bid in 2008? Or will something else happen? More to the point, with his internal threat now reduced, will President Bush start practicing what he preaches about encouraging liberty and freedom, by reducing the role and size of government both inside the US and outside? Or are we simply going to see the expansion of our growing Imperium, both internally and externally?

A lot of questions – I wish I had some answers. Maybe some readers do! Meanwhile, on to the news. RRND had a limited selection and I've added a few others. (Read the rest here)
