October 27, 2004

My opinion of President George W. Bush cannot be honestly stated; it would be far too vulgar. After eight years of Clinton, whom I helped to elect in 1992 by voting for third party candidate Ross Perot, I was eager for salvation from Big Brother government socialism via the GOP that I had supported for over forty years. I did indeed vote for Bush II.

As I have offered many times before in this space, starting with Bush's cave-in by not going after Clinton, at least verbally, for trashing the White House and looting the Nation's silverware, I almost immediately noticed that salvation would not be forthcoming.

Bush's partnership with McCain regarding unconstitutional campaign finance reform, his partnership with Kennedy in expanding the Department of Education, and his support of the so-called "assault weapons" ban, converted him from the Republican I would always support to the cheesy and bumbling incompetent cutout that I could never support.

Now add to that the loony ramblings of GOP chair Ed Gillespie in booming that the Republican Party is now the party of big government and therefore big spending, and vice-President Dick Cheney's brilliant observation that "deficits don't matter," and you have the makings of both a party and its politicians dangerously out of touch with the concept of American republican government.

Combine that with the lies that started the Iraqi war, initiated only to serve the interests of a foreign state, Israel, offering no visible, realizable benefit to America and Americans, but resulting instead as visible, realized detriments in terms of our military losses and the skyrocketing gasoline prices at the pump. The secret cabal of Israel-serving neoconservative warmongers must be defeated and removed permanently from the American political scene, and the only way to be sure of accomplishing this is to vote for anybody but Bush! So as a former Republican of forty years, ridding the nation of the Bush family is JOB ONE this election!

A vote for Bush is not only a vote for continued, never-ending warfare, but it will also likely escalate to Iran, as required by Israel, and could possibly ignite World War III! A Bush victory will be interpreted as a mandate for continuing the same lunacy as has evidenced itself in the last four years, and will necessitate a draft to once again enslave Americans. A Bush loss will not only rid our nation of this danger, but may also serve to possibly return the Republican Party to some semblance of its original direction.

Therefore, working from the bottom up, after Bush, the next best choice is Senator John Kerry. Kerry isn't an undercover liberal like Bush; he too is a big tax and squander liberal with a horrendous penchant for waffling, lying and flip-flopping. No more has to be said – he is a very poor choice, but a lot better than Bush, who has already severely damaged the country by his nightmarish alliance to Israel alienating virtually the entire international community against us, and then socking us with Bill Clinton's Hitlerian USA PATRIOT Act.

The primary objective in this election for each voter should be, therefore, the removal of George W. Bush. I have previously offered that he should have been impeached for knowingly lying us into an unjust, unnecessary and unconstitutional war. And his copping out by offering that he was misled just doesn't do it – a chief executive of anything must always be sure of his sources, especially when a high cost in human lives is at stake. The government cover-ups still continue unabated – a more recent 9-11 report completed back in June is being suppressed by the Bush regime this very moment.

Clearly, Bush is a disaster! We must use this election to "impeach" him! But Kerry promises more of the same, and both are members of that secret Yale fraternity of boneheads. Therefore, there are basically only two options left: avoid voting altogether, or vote a third party. Not voting at all is indeed an option, but it is only a passive rebuke at best. This will be a very close election, one that a solid third party coalition could have won, at least in terms of airing the real issues and setting themselves up for future successes. Considering this, a better choice is to vote against the establishment.

Although Ralph Nader would be a good choice for those of a Democratic Party background because of his opposition to both the war and the control of our government by Israel, a vote for Nader cuts into Democratic support for Kerry, and as previously argued, Kerry is still a better choice than Bush. If I were a Democrat, I would support Kerry rather than Nader, keeping in mind job number one: dump Bush and Sharon! Kerry has a much better chance of doing this.

For real conservatives with a former GOP background, either the Constitution or Libertarian parties offer a viable alternative. Only the Constitution Party has shown the willingness to accept converts from other parties as well as the desire to be flexible as regards some aspects of its platform. The Libertarian Party comes off to me as a closed coffee klatch; they are inflexible on certain key principles, which the majority of Americans find "kooky," and they are not very embracing of converts.

My personal choice, however, will be the Libertarian Party. Had these two third parties worked together and joined forces, and picked a name-recognition star like Mel Gibson, this election would have been theirs for the asking. A personality like Gibson, combined with a Ralph Nader, could have pressured our ruling class politicians to have a real debate instead of the disgraceful blather of the presidential "debates."

The Libertarian Party has consistently challenged every administration in terms of deviations from our Constitution. Its liberal approaches to government, sexual matters, privacy and religion, are too "over-the-top" for the average American, and that is its weakness. In addition to sharp deviations from what is accepted as the norm on the part of the average American voter, I have become aware of internal bickering within the party that seriously compromises their overall efficacy. Yet, when bucking the establishment, the Libertarians have always been there and represent the largest and most consistent third party.

Having blown this golden opportunity, they would be wise to "prep up" for the next election by getting their message out, and becoming more aggressive in seeking new members while at the same time adapting to more flexible platform objectives that offer a complement to the failures of the main parties that are driving their disgruntled members out.

As Nader may deplete Kerry's support, former conservatives and GOP members may just make a difference in this election of no choices, and just perhaps put American politics back into sync with the visions of our Founders.
