Colorado Sheriff Bill Masters is on a crusade. Of course, he does his job working to protect the citizens of his county and arresting the bad guys there. But his greatest passion is reserved for righting what he sees as a truly great wrong, and that wrong is the so-called War on Drugs. There's little question that Masters is fighting on the right side despite the seeming incongruancy of a law enforcement officer coming out against the War on Drugs. But he's seen firsthand, and heard stories directly from others with similar experiences, just how little good and how much evil the existing drug prohibition in this country has done. Any law enforcement officer who takes seriously his oath to protect "civilians" can't ignore insensible statutes; inconsistent enforcement; draconian penalties all too frequently unfairly applied; the temptations for abuse of authority; and the massive waves of crime and violence encouraged and abetted under prohibition. And Masters doesn't. Instead, he works toward sorely needed reform. (Read the rest here)
The
U.S. Constitution: Supposedly, On June 25, 2003, President Bush signed the "Keeping Children and Families Safe Act of 2003", which is described by democrats, republicans and the president as an act that "would further provide funding for programs designed to prevent, detect and treat child abuse and neglect and coordinate efforts to do so among local, state and federal agencies.". Amazingly, the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) which fought for 3 provisions in the act, described it as "The new law will help protect innocent families against overly intrusive social workers". Over the years, thousands of homeschool families have been victimized by social workers operating on nothing more than a tip from an unknown stranger," said Michael Farris, General Counsel for Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA). "Such aggressiveness, in a system which presumes guilt, can result in needless pain and anxiety for families," said Farris . In November 2001, HSLDA reminded the House Committee on Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Select Education of this forgotten piece of paper, The Constitution of the United States of America. Politics
Causes Brain Damage, Scientists Claim US scientists have uncovered substantial evidence that politics damages the human brain in a privately funded, quietly conducted independent study. Government researchers vehemently disagree, and have now begun extensive studies of lab rats to demonstrate the benign effects of political activity on the brain - but their findings so far have proved largely inconclusive. "Some rats exhibit early signs of confusion, such as appearing to be blind and falling into ditches, and tend to become aggressive, such as stealing but rationalizing it's okay because they call it taxes, but they all quickly learned to pull the lever when they found they could vote themselves cheese from the public pantry," remarked Dr. Sherman Peabody, the scientist in charge of the tax-funded project. "Any assertion that politics impedes one's ability to think intelligently sounds like a vast left-brained conspiracy theory. Or maybe right-brained. I'm not sure. Sometimes I can't tell my right hand from my left hand. Often, one doesn't know what the other is doing, either. Dr. Ninevah has the same problem." (Read the rest here)

Commentary on The Day's News Dear
Readers, Hoping that everyone had a good New Year's, but with a touch of sadness, as today we bid farewell to Sunni's excellent work on "Freedom News Daily" - she has invested a tremendous amount of work in searching out important news items from around the world and especially in the USA that have a direct bearing on our fight for liberty. We wish her the best in her new endeavors! (And of course, as always, that wish, and the rest of the comments and opinions and views found herein are not necessarily those of anyone but the author of this column - but I hope everyone else will agree with this particular one.) 1-

Price of Liberty Reader's Forum AND Feedback! Dear Readers. I need your help to determine what to do about our feedback. The current system is very inadequate and it is cumbersome to get your comments to the authors. We set up one of our writers, Ed Ward with a topic in the reader's forum for feedback, thinking that this would be much better for everyone, but so far only he and I have posted anything to it. Please take a look at the "Onsite Articles" and let us know if this is something you would like to use for feedback, if you would prefer we stay with the current system, or have an idea for something completely different. I know that it may be a little inconvenient to register for the forum, but I hope you will decide that it is worth the effort. Please just give it a try. Your information will never be given or sold to anyone else for any purpose. The current feedback system for all archived articles will remain in place, but you can post comments on old articles to that writer's forum topic at any time instead. Thank
you so much for your help and support! MamaLiberty
