Outing Fallout - Decisions, Decisions!
By Ted Lang © 2004

In my column, NJ - WHERE THERE'S SMOKE... , I indicated that where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire. And in my previous column, I alluded to all the New Jersey political scandals over the last few years, including the Torricelli resignation. It seems the same political players in the New Jersey Democratic Party keep connecting with the same tar baby.

In their August 16th article in the Newark Star-Ledger reporters David Kinney and Josh Margolin offer that “Democrats urge McGreevey to leave,” the title of their article. They write, “With U.S. Sen. Jon Corzine signaling he will answer his party's call to run for governor in a special election this year, key Democratic leaders are intensifying their efforts to persuade Gov. James E. McGreevey to quit immediately and clear the way for the senator's candidacy.”
Writing conservative opinion for the Star- Ledger, Paul Mulshine in his August 15th piece entitled, “The GOP should resign itself to the facts,” is convinced that New Jersey Republicans will blow their lead on the McGreevey scandal.

Wired
This is certainly the case: my junk mail and spam both have a lot of ads for these classes in them: it is often the usual culprits -the kind that make big bucks repackaging government regulations and publications for resale, and then offer seminars on them for prices pushing $500 PER DAY plus travel expenses. It's a nice racket, and one more way OUR taxmoney is getting squandered - as state and local agencies head for these. One example: "Security Issues and Concerns for Small Water Districts" is being offered by the American Water and Waste Water Association, for ONLY $250 per day ($200 for members of AWWA). Project: Safe Skies -- RKBA to the Rescue
by The Hunter

Originally published October 9, 2001 at Keep And Bear Arms .com

Project: Safe Skies was founded to promote the idea that just because you choose to travel by commercial airlines you do not forfeit your inherent right of self-defense. The horrific events of September 11, and ESPECIALLY the successful counter-attack by the heroes of United Flight 93, make it abundantly clear just how necessary that fundamental right is. I have been both gratified and amazed how many other writers simultaneously came to the same realization I did about the dire necessity of repealing the unconstitutional laws forbidding peaceful, responsible citizens from carrying firearms aboard aircraft. The only thing more amazing is the capacity for the gummint-worshippers and the media to goose-step carefully around that conclusion. (Read the rest here)

Kerry's Energy Socialism
by Sheldon Richman

If the Republican and Democratic presidential candidates were forbidden to offer proposals based on collectivist economic thinking, they would have to keep mum the entire campaign.

We are in for three months of unrelenting nonsense from President George W. Bush and Sen. John F. Kerry. That wouldn’t be so bad if most people recognized it as nonsense. But since education these days is intended more to create quiescent “good citizens” than skeptical thinkers, most people will be taken in by these charlatans. (Read the rest here)

Free Hunter: Collateral Damage
by Carl Bussjaeger

American Independence Day has come and gone, along with the traditional boom and glare of fireworks that bring joy to many kids, young and old.

Picture two such of the younger children: Adorable little girls just six and four years old respectively, Mikayla and Brittany. Imagine their anticipation as the big day approaches and they look forward not only to the beloved fireworks, but also to the arrival of their favorite uncle Jeff, whom they haven't seen in months.

Now picture the adorable little girls' disappointment because a suited goon in Ohio wouldn't let Uncle Jeff come see his family. Yes, Mikayla and Brittany are just two more victims of the Ashland County, Ohio prosecutor's office.

Call them "collateral damage," more innocents caught in the cross-fire as the run-amuck prosecutors pursue their vendetta against Jeffrey "Hunter" Jordan. (Read the rest here)
