Tell me it isnt so: Is John Kerry as stupid and ill advised as was Howard Dean? It appears he may be, and possibly worse.
It is a fact that as a Massachusetts senator, Kerry voted for the blatantly non-constitutional resolution to illegally hand over the exclusive constitutional congressional power to declare war on Iraq to the president back in October of 2002.
Had Kerry any respect whatsoever for his oath, and a healthy knowledge of the plainly written Constitution, he would have known that Congress has no authority under the Constitution to transfer the authority to declare war to the Executive Branch or to any other branch of government. If the authority to hand over the power to declare war is not explicitly given Congress by the Constitution, then the act is expressly forbidden under Article X of the Bill of Rights.
Until now, Kerry could have hidden behind the perpetually wrong argument that the ends justified the means most of his other colleagues used to approve that onerous resolution; that being that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction, and that he intended to use them against United States interests imminently.
But now, Kerry has inadvertently leveled the playing field regarding any future war debate. He has played right into George W. Bushs hand, and Bush will use Kerrys words against him with aplomb. No doubt about it: Kerry and his team are idiots.
I just wrote a friend that there are three more months where anything can happen, but that if the election were held today, Kerry would win decisively. Well, anything just did happen, and I cant wait for Kerry to let the other shoe drop. Whatll it be next, candidate Kerry??
