04, 2004 Author’s note: I differentiate between gun-owners and gun-patriots because those who simply own guns do not possess the passion or dedication of a true patriot. Such patriots are, unfortunately, in a distinct minority in this country. In the 2004 election, those of us who cherish the God given right to freedom and the possession of those tools necessary to protect that freedom, have a pivotal choice to make: Do we support those who honor our Constitution or those who are engaged in the incremental dismantling of the tenants of that parchment? For obvious reasons, the democrats cannot even be considered in this decision. They long ago signed on to the socialist bandwagon and their quest for the total disarming of all citizens. There is no difference between Kerry and Clinton. They both would pose as hunters/sportsmen so as to deceive many into believing they support gun ownership, but when have you ever heard one of them speak of using that firearm to defend one’s life, family or freedom? Is that not the sole reason we have the Second Amendment? Because of this sellout by the democrats, is our only choice now the republicans? Exactly what has this party done to deserve any support from a gun patriot? Actually nothing? The better question is: what have they done to preserve this right and take away the burden of a myriad of unconstitutional gun laws? Again the answer is nothing? Karl Rove, George W. Bush’s brain, reportedly sent a memo to W. in which he told Bush to disregard those who support gun ownership and those who are opposed to abortion, because they have no other place to go. One could only surmise that he is referring to voting for democrats, as most in this country cannot conceive of there being anyone to vote for outside of the two parties vetted and anointed by the media and/or big business. Following the suggestion of his brain, Bush has said that he will indeed sign the Assault Weapons Bill if it comes to his desk. By saying he would do so, Bush has staked out both sides of the fence. He has claimed to be pro Second Amendment, but has appeased the Schumer/Feinstein/Kennedy/Boxer element of the democrats and their anti-rights, gun grabbing, socialistic agenda—How is that for a man of conviction? So, if you touch the screen, pull the lever, or write the name of George W. Bush on a ballot this election, you do so with the full realization that you are voting for a man who puts politics above the Constitution, and is more aligned with the Clintons, Schumer, Boxer, Feinstein, Kennedy, Kerry and other anti-rights politicians than he is with those who honor and cherish that Constitution. If you can do that by deluding yourself into thinking you are voting for the lesser of two evils—please remember that you are still voting for evil—and that evil will someday demand you give up your only protection for your family, your freedom and yes—even your life. They have indicated they do not wish for you to have the means to protect yourself from a run away tyrannical government. If they did they would showcase their support for individual ownership of weapons such as those used by police and the military. Now, I know there are many out there who believe the lesser of two evils is your only choice. Somewhere in the recesses of your mind you actually wish there was someone running for president that would support the Constitution as written and would advocate repealing all federal gun control laws and restoring us to the limited government our forefathers sacrificed to create. If there were—would you vote for them—or continue to support the political process you know to be corrupt and politicians who are nothing but professional liars? Well folks, the time has come to fish or cut bait. There is such a candidate. But, most of you will support one of the two criminals sponsored by either of the two major parties. If you have trouble with my use of the word “criminal”—just exactly what do you call someone who takes an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic—and then declares they will support laws that are contrary to that document, and contrary to their oath? Would you tolerate such behavior from your pastor—your banker, or what about your spouse? Real gun patriots will support the Constitution—not a party. I will gladly “ruck-up” and do battle for freedom along with any of those patriots, but will have nothing but contempt for those who continue to vote for the lesser of two evils. Victory for gun patriots can only be a reality when we stop our support for status-quo politics and politicians. If all gun owners and gun patriots stood together we could make a difference in this country—if we continue as we have—supporting those who sell us out—it is only a matter of time before they come for our guns as they did in Oshkosh, Wisconsin a few days ago. 7-29-04 TYRANNY UPDATE! Oshkosh police say 'Sorry' for trampling citizens' rights in door-to-door gun confiscations. Oshkosh, Wis. -- In what appears to be an admission of wrongdoing by the Oshkosh Police Department, Fox 11 WLUK (Green Bay) has reported that area resident Terry Wesner was offered an apology by the department. Police evacuated citizens from their homes within a quarantined area near Smith Elementary School Saturday night (July 17, 2004) to conduct a broad gun sweep of the neighborhood following the shooting of Oshkosh police officer Nate Gallagher. Residents reported returning home from area shelters -- where they were herded by police -- to find their guns gone. Others watched in awe as police took their firearms after giving police consent to search. Some were told by police their firearms would be subjected to ballistics tests, and would be returned. "However, the bullet that hit officer Gallagher was not found," said Corey Graff, executive director of Wisconsin Gun Owners Inc. "So how can police conduct ballistics tests if there's no bullet with which to match the results? It defies logic." Graff said the biggest issue is what he calls the department's "Guilty-until-proven-innocent" posture towards citizens. In what appears to be a blatant knee jerk abuse of police power, the department unleashed the dogs — literally — when the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT) showed up with its K-9 Unit to begin house-to-house searches. According to media reports, the suspect fled on foot into the neighborhood, and has not been apprehended. Warrants for searches were issued for at least two homes, (perhaps more) but homeowners in the area reported having all their firearms taken by police. Some witnesses said the whole neighborhood was evacuated by force and citizens were being told – not asked, but told – to hand over their guns. Some weren’t even asked. "That’s what makes me so mad," said resident Terry Wesner in an Oshkosh Northwestern report (July 20, 2004). "They had no reason [to remove firearms] without a warrant. . .I didn’t know they removed anything until my buddy, who’s staying with me, noticed they were missing. I thought you had to have a warrant to take someone’s guns." [Emphasis Added] In a subsequent report, another resident, who worked the late night weekend shift, reported he came home to find a scene that looked like his home had been burglarized — he said personal belongings were thrown about — and his gun safe was empty. "They didn’t even leave a note, telling me what was going on," the man said on camera. An elderly woman said she woke up to find police — who were reported to be dressed in black, quasi-military gear — conducting a search in her home in the early morning hours. "Did the fact that this poor senior citizen happened to live in the immediate area of the crime warrant "Reasonable Suspicion" or "Probable Cause" that she could have committed this heinous act?" asked Graff. "Is Grandma taking pot shots out her kitchen window? Is she hiding something in the cookie jar?" He said. In the same Oshkosh Northwestern report (July 20, 2004) Oshkosh Police Captain Jay Puestohl was reported to have, "declined to say on what grounds officers had the right to remove the firearms…" "If officers were acting honorably and respecting property owners' rights, why not say so? Why not be upfront? Why the secrecy?" Graff said. One resident in the neighborhood may have found himself the subject of the investigation simply by refusing to consent to a search (entirely within his rights) according to the news report. The Oshkosh Northwestern story quoted one neighbor — who suspected homeowners who exercised their right to refuse consent to the heavy-handed searches, were presumed guilty by police — as saying: ". . .[T]hey’ve been downright rude to us. . .You don’t treat so-called civilians this way." [Emphasis Added] The news story goes on to say that Captain Puestohl ". . .declined to say whether officers pursued the warrant because the residents refused a consent search." This hysteria-driven Oshkosh neighborhood gun grab could establish a nightmarish precedent for a wide-open abuse of police power to be unleashed upon Badger State gun owners said WGO. The silence from other gun rights groups on this issue is deafening. "The institutional gun lobby is just as scared as the poor people in that Oshkosh neighborhood," Graff said. "They might be thinking, 'If I speak out, will my guns be next?'" Wesner, one of the brave gun owners to speak out against the rash of gun confiscations that occurred after the shooting, said police confiscated his guns after entering his home without a search warrant. He reported in a Thursday, July 22 television interview with WLUK-FOX 11, "They [the police] are not going to come in my home again [without a warrant]." That same report stated that the police "acknowledged a lack of proper procedure [in not obtaining a warrant]. Anyone want to place a wager that any of the officers in this invasion on the rights of citizens in Oshkosh are fired or severely punished? Yeah right—just like Lon Horiuchi for shooting Vicky Weaver in the face, the US Marshals who shot her son in the back, the killers of the innocent children and adults at Waco or the thousands of bureaucrats who did nothing as thousands of our citizens died on 9/11! If the patterns of the above are followed—someone in this department will surely be promoted. Keep voting for these criminals—or find some courage and vote for the Constitution Party. http://www.constitutionparty.com/ If you cannot vote for what you know to be right—please give your firearms to someone with guts—they will need them when the time comes for true patriots to stand up and be counted! Besides, you won’t need them—you will be too busy compromising and groveling.
