Libertarian Commentary on The Day's News
By Nathan A. Barton © 2004

Read these articles and other great news and commentary by clicking here. The views expressed herein are warranted to be worth the price you paid for them, but not necessarily to be those of FND, TPoL, or anyone else. Using these views may be harmful to statists and other lower forms of life (okay, I know I'm giving them the benefit of doubt), and may on occasion stick in someone's throat.

1- Clinton: Bush ruined my legacy
I'm glad Sunni led with this one - a good laugh is always a help in delving into the news. Actually, I think Bill is letting his prejudices get away with him - sadly, Bush has done more to preserve the "legacy" of the previous administration than anyone claiming to be a conservative should, by a long shot.

2- Spare change left in airports funds federal gov-beast
And if you believe "every last penny" goes to the treasury, you don't know the average TSA employee very well. I'm not saying that they are all crooks, but the average member of "Thousands Standing Around" has the amorality of Lynddie England and her fellow thugs in Abu Graib, or they wouldn't be in TSA to begin with. Is America A Sudan Waiting To Happen?
By Doug Newman

Every now and then, I get one of those ooey-gooey e-mails about what a Wonderful Christian President we have, and how it is the duty of every American Christian to stand behind him.

It is not for me to judge Dubya's relationship with his Maker any more than I would judge that of Bill Clinton, Al Gore or John Kerry. However, I am past nausea hearing about what a Splendid Christian Man we have in the White House based on the most superficial criteria imaginable.

Recently, I got an e-mail forwarded from a California pastor -- whom I shall call JL -- who recently attended a conference where he met a pastor from Uzbekistan. The Uzbek pastor told how, because his government is fearful of Dubya, they do not persecute Christians as much as they did when Clinton was in office. Moreover, his church in Uzbekistan is praying for Dubya's re-election. (Read the rest here)

Islam and US
By Cornet Joyce II

One only has to study years and years of the issues of National Geographic and a trend materializes out of the fog. If a person studies those pictures and relates them to Judaeo-Christian philosophy, there is a glaring difference between the two.

If a person studies the activities of Islamic armies, there is a glaring behavior that cannot be ignored, a behavior that points directly to that same difference. That behavior results in what is called, by most, barbarism.

What is that difference? Islam does not require men to control their more basal instincts.

I refer specifically to the sexual drive in men. Christianity was summarized by the statement, paraphrased: 'if a person even thinks in their heart in an adulterous way they have commited the sin.' Conclusion: Control yourselves. Control your drives. It is considered godly for a man to cleave to one woman while controling any temptations placed before him by the beautiful female figure. Please note: All feedback is forwarded to the author. Most of them would be happy to respond. If you wish to receive a response to your feedback, you must include your email address in the body of the comment section at the bottom of each page. Not all comments can be answered, but if you don't include an email address, we have no way to reach you.

Unfortunately, for some reason unknown to me, the feedback is not being posted to the comments page anymore. I've asked ZooT, our tech editor to look into it, so hopefully it will be fixed soon. Just remember, our "shoestring" is very, very short so we must depend on volunteers for all technical repairs. Thanks for your support and patience. MamaLiberty

Report Omits Key Player—Foreign Policy
By Ivan Eland

Although the 9/11 commission’s investigation has won praise in the media for being bipartisan, on balance it has not made us safer. The commission discovered new information to rewrite the history of the Sept. 11 attacks, uncovered government incompetence that should make Americans wonder if those attacks could have been prevented and made some useful recommendations. But the panel avoided the most important question surrounding the attacks—their underlying cause. (Read the rest here)

Free "The Hunter"

Free Hunter: Collateral Damage
by Carl Bussjaeger

American Independence Day has come and gone, along with the traditional boom and glare of fireworks that bring joy to many kids, young and old.

Picture two such of the younger children: Adorable little girls just six and four years old respectively, Mikayla and Brittany. Imagine their anticipation as the big day approaches and they look forward not only to the beloved fireworks, but also to the arrival of their favorite uncle Jeff, whom they haven't seen in months.

Now picture the adorable little girls' disappointment because a suited goon in Ohio wouldn't let Uncle Jeff come see his family. Yes, Mikayla and Brittany are just two more victims of the Ashland County, Ohio prosecutor's office.

Call them "collateral damage," more innocents caught in the cross-fire as the run-amuck prosecutors pursue their vendetta against Jeffrey "Hunter" Jordan. (Read the rest here)
