Since Nathan
didn't send in anything today, I thought I'd take a stab at this myself.
Let me know what you think about these things. MamaLiberty
1-
U.S. election to be a battle of the databases?
Whoever you vote for, government gets elected. At least this way you don't
have to bother. They will now elect themselves without anybody getting
pesky about hanging chads or anything.
2- Berger
resigns from Kerry campaign amid scandal
Let the mudslinging and personal attacks begin. Politics isn't about what's
good for the citizens, only about what is good for the politicians.
3- U.S.
immigration dept to increase money-snooping
Oh sure, the usual excuses: terrorists and criminals. To begin with, depends
on who you call a "terrorist" or "criminal". These
days it means just exactly whatever the government says it is, and don't
you forget it. They can even arrest the money itself as "probably
involved in criminal activity", and the owner has to prove that it
isn't!
4- Corporate
retail money to decide U.S. president?
Looks to me like they pretty much cancel each other out. One supports
Kerry and one supports Bush. Too bad they decided to waste their money
this way. I'm just afraid they'll join the long line of business organizations
sucking at the corporate welfare tit. It's about time for a new entrepreneur
to come along and put them out of business by providing what the customers
want, not dabbling in politics.
5- Senate
Dems block another Bush judicial nominee
Ho - hum. Aren't they tired of this game yet? When all is said and done,
it really doesn't much matter anymore. The judicial branch has lost any
resemblance to what was intended by the founders. Anyone nominated has
to be in lock step with the socialists to have a prayer of getting in.
They're only haggling about the price.
6- Hillary in 2008
already?
The wicked witch of the east hasn't got a chance, far as I can see. She
doesn't play nice with all the other power moguls and wants it all to
herself. The people in power behind the scene certainly don't want anyone
elected who won't follow their orders, now do they?
7- U.S.
transpo-crats fear-monger on highway conditions
And, of course, nobody even mentions the fact that government intervention
and theft of money earmarked to build and repair roads is to blame. Take
a look at some privately owned and operated toll roads in Southern California.
They are clean, well maintained and you never run into a backup unless
there is a major crash (rare). Then take a peek over at the "public"
freeway and witness the waste of time, gas and so forth enjoyed by everyone
else. No, the toll roads are not perfect yet because the government is
still involved, but the difference is incredible.
8- Heads
might roll over nuclear lab security lapses
Seems to me that if they were privately owned and operated they would
never have had any problems to begin with. As it is, this is only one
of a long line of such incidents there. Why? They have no incentive to
do things right. They pretty much get paid no matter what happens. That's
government in the raw.
9- Fascism
in socialized medicine coming to U.S.?
"Coming" to the U. S.? These folks have not been paying attention.
The medical care in the U.S. has been socialized for a long time now.
Medicare and Medicaid doomed all medical providers to government slavery.
You may not know it, but even those who pay privately or have other insurance
must be treated exactly as if they were Medicare patients. That is now
the standard and innovation is highly discouraged. This just adds another
layer of insanity, and more paperwork you can bet. Any nurse or doctor
out there still not thinking about a new career in real estate?
10- Protest
zone for Democratic convention draws outrage
Oh, come on now. Free speech has been dead a long time. The black netting
does seem a bit extreme, but you didn't think the popular media was going
to show you protesting anyway, now did you? Why are they wasting their
time with a convention? It's a done deal.
11- Ruling
against Minnesota concealed carry law challenged
How many lawyers can dance on the head of a pin? This is simply another
way for a lot of lawyers to get fat paychecks while the people are sold
a bill of goods. If any of them had any interest in the law, none of this
would have come up because everybody who wanted to carry already would
be, without asking for a permission slip.
12- Pennsylvania
county to make public all arrests
And this will accomplish exactly what? I wonder how much taxpayer money
will be wasted fighting lawsuits for errors and malicious postings. And
you thought the government was interested in your privacy?
13- Texas
cosmeticrats regulate foot spas
Oh my! I'm sure they nearly had a stroke when they learned there was something
left unregulated - and probably untaxed as well! Aren't we all safer now
that those rogue foot washers are properly hog tied under government control?
14- Alaska
gov. vetoes less pork; oil boom eased budget problems
The usual play on words here. He didn't really cut state spending at all.
He just just cut some of the increase in spending the legislature had
wanted. I'm sure there was still plenty of pork to appease all of the
best contributors.
15- Alabama
judge strikes down cities' tobacco tax
Funny how they use that word "constitutional" so freely and
don't have a clue what it means. All taxes on individuals are unconstitutional,
but I have never seen a politician who really worried about it.
16- Nations
don't step up to protect UN mission to Iraq
Doesn't surprise me at all. I can't imagine why any other country would
want to get involved with that tar
baby. If you never read that story, just click onto the link. Remember
that the rest of the world can see the truth about the death and destruction
going on in Iraq. Americans only see what the government wants them to
see, unless they work a little harder to find the truth.
17-
Greek gov imposes Olympics firearms ban
Not to worry! The politicians will all have their own bodyguards, but
the mere peons who actually perform can jolly well make do with whatever
the Greeks come up with. Just what do you think the chances would be for
a major terrorist strike if they knew that every single man, woman and
child in the country was armed to the teeth? I suspect it would be close
to zero. Why in the world doesn't that occur to some of these idiots?
18- Israel
gov says separation fence work will proceed
This thing is one more stinking mess, with plenty of blame to go around,
but it seems to me that unless the whole world is ready to eliminate Israel
as a country, it's nobody's business if they build a fence or not. Seems
to me there's been talk of such a fence along parts of the U.S./ Mexico
border and I have not heard that anybody asked the UN for permission.
The fact that it's probably a waste of time and money anyway is another
story...
19- Cancun
government dissolved over financial crisis
Politics as usual, Mexican style. They've impoverished the people to the
point that they can't even pay the government workers, it seems, and those
workers aren't taking it sitting down. It doesn't sound like Cancun would
be a very nice place to visit these days and that's too bad. They'll just
get more government and less income.
20- Socialized
medicine 'reform' working through France gov
Oh, the joys of socialized medicine. They start out "free",
with unlimited choice and few restrictions. Eventually, however, reality
has to set in and along come all of the restrictions, costs and loss of
choice the whole thing was supposed to eliminate. Unfortunately, in the
meantime all of the best practitioners have quit and the facilities have
deteriorated to the point where it will cost billions to rebuild and modernize
them. And who gets to spend all those billions? Yep, the same people for
whom medical care was supposed to be "free". Brilliant.
21- Canadian
Western provinces gaining political clout
Does that mean they are becoming as corrupt and socialistic as their eastern
counterparts? Probably.
22- Bye-bye
plastic bags?
Oh, for crying out loud. What's next? Go back to paper? You've got to
put the stuff into something and the plastic bags are very useful as well
as cheap. Stupid politicians, always want to "solve" one problem
by creating a dozen others.
