Kerry Would
Rather Lose The Election Than Stop The Killing Rather odd behavior, one would think, coming from a man who was instrumental in founding Vietnam Veterans Against The War. But, John Kerry says he would increase the number of US troops in Iraq and place them under the command of the UN! Ironic, isn’t it, that a man can change so very much in 30 years just by becoming well ensconced in the government apparatus? John Kerry knows full well that if he goes against the powers that be, who depend on wars for their wealth, he will not only not be elected president, but will not be reelected into the Senate. President Woodrow Wilson knew of this power cabal back in the early years of the previous century. He spoke of it in this manner. "Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's' views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the U.S., in the field of commerce and manufacturing, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above a whisper in condemnation of it.
War
Is No Blank Check "A state of war is not a blank check for the president when it comes to the rights of the nations citizens." Those words from Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day OConnor are music to the hears of every friend of freedom. That line is a direct slap at President George W. Bush, who has signaled by almost every word and deed that his personal declaration of war on "terror" is a blank check. He believes that the courts have no legal authority to even review his indefinite incarceration of American citizens and others without charge if he brands them "enemy combatants." In this administrations view, one may not even appeal that designation. Can one think of a more fundamental attack on American legal tradition that this? Thank goodness the Supreme Court recognized how subversive the Bush administration has been. (Read the rest here)

ALL EDUCATION IS RELIGIOUS AT HEART Most Americans think of education as a value-neutral arena in which children are taught the knowledge and skills they need to function as adults in society. As Christians, we must realize that education is inherently religious. What is education, if not teaching children about the way the world works? (Read the rest here)

Hunter: Collateral Damage American Independence Day has come and gone, along with the traditional boom and glare of fireworks that bring joy to many kids, young and old. Picture two such of the younger children: Adorable little girls just six and four years old respectively, Mikayla and Brittany. Imagine their anticipation as the big day approaches and they look forward not only to the beloved fireworks, but also to the arrival of their favorite uncle Jeff, whom they haven't seen in months. Now picture the adorable little girls' disappointment because a suited goon in Ohio wouldn't let Uncle Jeff come see his family. Yes, Mikayla and Brittany are just two more victims of the Ashland County, Ohio prosecutor's office. Call them "collateral damage," more innocents caught in the cross-fire as the run-amuck prosecutors pursue their vendetta against Jeffrey "Hunter" Jordan. (Read the rest here)
