Have
Conservative Talk Show Hosts Sold Out the Constitution for the Republican
Party? During the early 1930s, FDR and his New Dealers conducted a savage attack on the Constitution and system of limited government established by that document. Newspapers across the country responded with editorials that castigated the Roosevelt Administration for their unconstitutional power grabs. Many of these editorials took the form of civics lessons on the Constitution. Even political cartoonists stepped forward to defend the Constitution from the New Dealers. Since most of these newspapers have become advocates of the big government policies they decried 70 years ago, educational articles on the Constitution have long since faded from their editorial pages. As a result, there has been no media watchdog to alert the public when the federal government attempted to unconstitutionally expand its power. This helped open the door for conservative talk show hosts to step forward and make the claim they stand for the system of limited government established by the Constitution. This raises a question? Are conservative talk show hosts making good on this claim or have they sold out the Constitution for the Republican Party? (Read the rest here.)
The
Meltdown of Western Medicine,
Part I There are many things that have contributed to the destruction of medical care in this country, all of them involve government in one way or another, but this article will deal mainly with just one of them: paperwork. The medical record used to serve two main purposes. It was a record of what had been done and the patient's response to it. A main component of it was communication between the different health care providers so that things didn't get missed or repeated. I remember as a young nurse being put in charge of the "cardex". All of the doctor's orders were transferred from the charts to the cardex in pencil each time the doctor's did their "rounds" or whenever a nurse called for a telephone order. We would erase old orders and pencil in the new ones. The nurses would come to the cardex to see what lab tests had been ordered, diet changes and everything else. As a nurse on the floor, I relied on the cardex to maintain the care of my patients and the one responsible for the cardex had to be both accurate and honest. Then, after we had carried out the orders, we initialed the cardex, then wrote in the nurse's notes about what had been done and how the patient responded. It was that simple, and we spent at least 90% of our time actually with the patients. An RN actually gave patients back rubs. (Read the rest here)
Smoke
Gets in Their Lies They
had spies everywhere - the people spying on each other, just to
have an 'ace in the hole' in case they [themselves] were accused
- and anyone who had a grudge against you could accuse you of something
- just an accusation meant you'd disappear. Nobody dared ask where
you had gone - anyone who returned was considered suspicious - what
had they said, and whom did they implicate? It was a climate of
fear - there's nothing anyone can do when the government uses fear
and imprisonment to intimidate people. The government was above
the law. Investigative reporter, Tom Flocco, on his website, TomFlocco.com, has highlighted two very disturbing aspects of the 9-11 Kean Commission proceedings. First, Flocco in a March 24th release identifies a former FBI employee, a translator fluent in Farsi and Turkish languages, as having been intimidated and threatened with imprisonment by both the FBI and the Department of Justice for attempting to help the 9-11 commission. And in another Flocco article posted April 1st, another huge cloud of 9-11 smoke was uncovered in terms of a joint financial connection between President Bush, 9-11 commission Chairman Thomas Kean, and oil and banking interests involving the Osama bin Laden family. It appears there is yet another behind-the-scenes extremely wealthy set of interests, similar to the banking and industrial interests of President Bushs grandfather, the late former Senator Prescott Bush and his partner, the late former governor of New York, W. Averell Harriman. They were heavily involved in the investment activities of Fritz Thyssen, Hitlers man in America, under the auspices of the banking firm of Brown Brothers Harriman.
