Watch Out
Gun Owners: While many of us have been wondering just how old Dubya was going to handle the sunset clause in the Assault Weapons Ban, lo and behold the congressional Republicans have devised a way to rescue their boy and keep the AWB, all at the same time. Word is out that the Republican lawmakers have contrived to include the extension of the AWB into legislation that will also ban lawsuits against gun manufacturers. By so doing, they are providing themselves a way to make the AWB permanent while being able to say they voted for a bill to protect gun manufacturers. Be forewarned; the buzzword for the Republicans in their colossal sell-out will be compromise. Naturally, the lapdogs down at the NRA will jump on the bandwagon and support this piece of socialist drivel, just like they have every other sell out of our Second Amendment rights in the past. Politicians - Maneuvering And Deceitful Why was former President Bill Clinton impeached? Can this now be legally justified? Was it only the perjury committed while placing hand on Bible and then lying? Minor lie or not, it brought down the most powerful man on Earth. But how many died as a result? Was impeachment merely the orchestrated political harassment of Bill Clinton?
It is, of course, a different legal matter when one places hand on Bible while taking the oath of office for the presidency, or any significant federal position, including that of member of Congress. This is so because we are supposed to be a nation governed by laws, not by men, not by personalities, and not by political parties redolent of partisan posturing. To ensure that political persuasion, popular emotions and sociological trends never supplant our written guarantee of justice for all, it is imperative that all in America play by the hallowed principles of our nations rule of law. Final
Letter To Verizon Communications
By Carl Bussjaeger Dear Mr. Seidenberg, It has come to my attention that my friend, Jeffrey L. Jordan, a Verizon employee in New Hampshire, has not been reporting to work since his arrest in Ohio for an alleged firearms technicality. This concerns me greatly because I do not believe it is by his choice. When I learned of Mr. Jordan's arrest, I headed up to New Hampshire (via Ohio) as an observer and to provide moral support. So I'm in a position to see some things which I can't explain, mainly because Mr. Jordan has apparently been advised not speak about any aspect of his case that isn't already public knowledge. As I mentioned, one of the things I've noticed is that Mr. Jordan hasn't been going to work since he returned from Ohio. From years of association with him, I know that he is a long-time employee of Verizon. With expensive legal actions in progress, it is unlikely that he would voluntarily cut his income by simply neglecting to go to work. I've asked, and he tells me there's nothing he's free to speak of regarding his employment status. (Read the rest here)
