- Emotions Vs. Facts
Recent presidential campaign mudslinging splattered emotional mud not only upon candidates, political parties, and their campaign-proclaimed objectives, but upon the truth as well. Why is it hateful to merely make comparisons to historical fact? The events referred to involve an anti-Bush movement seeking to unseat him from the presidency by comparing his administration to the tactics of Germany’s pre-World War II Nazi Party. It isn’t relevant as to precisely what was said in order to disparage or denigrate Bush and his new neoconservative Republican PNAC Party. Neither is it relevant to evaluate what was offered as a defense by the Bush administration. What is relevant is true relevancy itself! (Read the rest here)
Pick Your
Pill In the movie The Matrix, the lead character is asked to swallow either a red pill or a blue pill. He is to choose based on the fact that one pill will make him forget what he's learned so far and wake up in his own bed. The other will result in him obtaining knowledge that will change the way he lives and sees the world around him irrevocably and forever. Neo chooses the knowledge. I relate to Neo because that would have been my choice, too. Without knowledge, informed decisions cannot be made and appropriate actions cannot be taken. That's why, along with my own personal activist efforts, I work to educate others as to programs, precedents, and other circumstances that are having - or will have - an effect on our civil liberties. I firmly believe that, with adequate knowledge in hand, the vast majority of people will choose freedom and make their subsequent decisions accordingly. That's why I take it seriously when I receive an email that asks questions about some stance I've taken on an issue, or about the issue itself. (Read the rest here)

Incorrect Movie Reviews Did you ever hear a joke that caught you by surprise and you laughed out loud … until someone told the same joke a second time and then it didn’t seem so funny anymore? Such is the case with Barbershop 2; Back In Bidness. But most limp-wristed feelm cri-teeks will be afraid to lambaste this lame flick, because it has virtually an all-black cast, complete with blubbery big-bootied black babes. However, what the cast looks like is not the problem here. The problem is every element that made Barbershop 1 such a great film is missing here; the characters have lost their edginess, the jokes are forced and the new characters are way too cartoony. The makers of Barbershop 2 knew this flick was going nowhere, but wanted to cash in on the success of the original before the pop-culture-minded public went on to something else. So they turned it into nothing more than a 98-minute promo for an upcoming Queen Latifah project, which itself looks to be a retreaded loser. Barbershop 2 is definitely a bad hair day. Here is the plot of Barbershop 2 in a quick-clip: Calvin’s Barber Shop may go out of bidness (again?!), because Evil Corporate America is moving in across the street. Homeboy antics ensue.
