These days it is increasingly difficult to differentiate between real information and plain old propaganda. All of the media is biased in one direction or another and most commentators are really just shills for the different political parties. So-called reporters are almost invariably people with no experience in the actual workings of the subjects they ‘report’ on. While sometimes well intentioned they are shamelessly manipulated by politicians and editors alike. It has been said that if you want to know what’s really going on in the world, read history; if you want an editor’s opinion of what a reporter thinks is going on, read the ‘news’.

But now there is an alternative to all that nonsense; True News.

At True News we have developed a proprietary formula based on historical patterns and the psychological study of those who need to rule others as well as the known qualities of various populations and special interests. We will distill all of the conflicting, confusing, deceptive and even, on rare occasions, accurate information from various media sources and, in conjunction with this publication, provide our readers with a version of events that is more reliable than anything available elsewhere. We guarantee that what True News presents will be correct at least half the time, which is better than you can get from newspapers, news magazines, radio or television.

For our first offering we have decided to use the war in Iraq. Were there weapons of mass destruction, was Iraq involved in the World Trade Center attack, was it just about oil, what the hell is Toni Blair up to, etc., etc., etc.? It is a very complex issue and most of the facts have been carefully hidden by the government agencies involved. But truth will out, and that’s why we’re here.

In a sense, the current war in Iraq actually began in December of 1989. That was when George H.W. Bush invaded Panama and kidnapped its president, Manuel Noriega. The cover story for this unprovoked aggression was that Noriega was violating U.S. drug laws. Anyone familiar with Bush pere’s career in espionage and as overseer of numerous illegal, clandestine government programs as CIA Director, Vice President and President knows that this justification for attacking a politically friendly country was ludicrous. However, for a certain type of person reasons don’t really matter, only the exercise of power (see Kissinger, Henry). And despite international outrage, he got away with it. Building on this foundation of compulsive domination and family criminal activity George Jr. decided to use the so-called war on ‘terrorism’ to justify an unprovoked attack against Iraq in a bid to gain control of their government and thereby control their vast oil reserves.

In an attempt to make this transparent aggression more palatable to the American public Bush recruited British Prime Minister Toni Blair to stand alongside him and make some speeches. We all know that Americans will believe the most idiotic twaddle if it’s presented with an Oxford accent. In return Bush promised Blair a share of the Iraqi oil and future aid money to help prop up England’s failing socialist economy. Toni, obviously and absolutely thrilled that anyone with a real country would even pretend to take him seriously, was oh so anxious to go along.

To further sell this war to their citizens (at a cost of more than a thousand million dollars a week) the two leaders deliberately presented false ‘intelligence’ about vast stores of something called ‘WMD’s’ (weapons magically disappearing?) that Saddam Hussein was going to use to kill the world. When former UN weapons inspector Dr. David Kelly showed signs of revealing that this ‘intelligence’ was nothing but self serving lies he was murdered and his death reported as a suicide (see Foster, Vince).

Besides all that oil, Iraq also controls a great amount of the mid east’s fresh water; water desperately needed by another of our vocal allies, Israel. Water is a critical commodity if they are going to continue to survive; their own very limited supply is rapidly being consumed and they can no longer exist without foreign water, any more than America can without foreign oil. Can you guess where that water will be coming from?

It could be argued that what is happening over there is what has happened all around the world from time immemorial; a strong people attacking a weaker people in order to take their wealth away from them. Raiding and plundering, but with the political niceties required by ‘civilization’. If it was just about removing psychotic dictators there are plenty of others we could attack, many much worse than Saddam, but they don’t have anything we want. It seems that Iraq has something for everyone, except perhaps the Iraqis.

So there you have it, or at least as much of it as can be salvaged from the vast factual wasteland of 21st century propaganda. We here at True News remind our readers that when you are seeking the truth from those who speak nothing but lies the only voice you can believe is that little one inside your own head.
