04, 2004 Thursday, January 29th, the Washington Times broke the story that democrats have a plan of their own for aliens. According to Nancy Pelosi, Bush's plan "doesn't create a meaningful way for illegal aliens to become U.S. residents or citizens." Nor does the Bush plan "help tens of thousands of teenage illegals attend college here and eventually be granted legal status." It doesn't mention who is going to pay the tuition for these illegal immigrants that are supposed to be working for less than minimum wage, but you can guess. They just don't seem to get it. At a time when Bush is on the ropes for a number of things and people are sporting "Anyone But Bush2004" buttons, only one complaint being that he neglected to close our borders immediately after 9/11, the people are now wondering just why Bush wants to open the borders even further. For the democrats to come out with a plan that's even wackier than Bush's just doesn't make sense. Setting out to prove that they can give away the store better than anyone is both counter productive and insane for the democrats. Pelosi calls the Bush plan nothing more than a "political ploy" to win Latino votes. No doubt, she means something similar to the Citizenship USA plan Vice President Al Gore headed during the 1998 campaign season where pressure was put on the Immigration and Naturalization Service to allow thousands of appreciative aliens to get their citizenship without background checks, language requirements, or the slightest understanding of American history and the Constitution. Or maybe she means the old Tammany Hall trick of emptying Staten Island while democratic precinct captains registered new voters as the ferry landed them in New York City. This is more serious than jealousy for having been beaten to the punch by the Bush administration. Officers of the Border Patrol report that illegal immigration has already gone up 15 percent since Bush's announcement of an amnesty plan only a few weeks ago. Most Americans are adamant about giving citizenship or even work permits to people who broke our laws. And in view of our jobless economy, the propaganda that these aliens will take jobs Americans won't touch is ridiculous. Speaking out of one side of his mouth, Bush is telling Americans that they must be ready to switch occupations and train for different work and the unspoken reality of lower wages, while the other side of his mouth is promising lower labor cost to his corporate friends in hopes that they will stop leaving the country in droves. Regardless of what the reasons might be, if our leaders on both sides of the more and more fictitious fence can be this cavalier about our borders, the American public is left to wonder what happened to the war on terrorism. It is inconsistent to expect us to tremble in our boots because others envy our decadence, infiltrated our country, trained here, carried off 9/11 with our own aircraft, and then government opens our borders even more instead of closing them tight. Worst of all, these inconsistencies feed right into the possibility that our government not only should have recognized the imminent danger of 9/11, but may have been complicit in its occurrence. On January 31, 2004, From The Wilderness Publications released an article titled "In Your Face" that deals with connections between Vice President Dick Cheney's Energy Task Force, its stonewalling of this publicly funded series of meetings, 9/11 and Peak Oil. In part, this article claims the following: Hints as to what was discussed in the secret task forceempanelled immediately after Bush took office in January 2001are now on the table. They strongly suggest that inside the NEPDG records lay the deepest, darkest secrets of 9/11. The motive; the apocalyptic truth that would compel such carnage and hairpin the course of human history; the thing that no one ever wanted to know; the thing that makes it utterly believable that the US government could have deliberately facilitated the attacks of September 11th, stands on the brink of full disclosure. The likelihood that those truths might soon be revealed is serious enough that two weeks ago Dick Cheney found it convenient to go duck hunting with Justice Antonin Scalia who will hear arguments in the case this spring. Nature laughs as pundits spin and concerned peoples around the world frantically and frenetically expend futile, disorganized energies against the juggernaut of tyranny and madness: elect a Democrat (any Democrat); impeach Bush; write a check to support an activist group; place an ad; stage a protest march; vote; don't vote; file a suit; file another suit; demand that the major media tell the truth, as long as it's the truth you want to hear; blame political ideology; blame a religion; blame a race; blame Capitalism; blame Communism; fight each other to release your frustrations and fears. That will make it better. Do anything but accept the obvious reality that for the US government to have facilitated and orchestrated the attacks of 9/11, something really, really bad must be going on. There are so many inconsistencies, proven lies, conflicts of interest, and contradictions in the Bush administration's accounts of 9/11 that the sheer multitude of themin a rational worldwould have brought the government to a halt long ago. But this is not a rational world. It is full of peopleon both sideswho are not behaving rationally." On the same day, January 31st, the Los Angeles Times issued an article titled "Two Democrats Criticize Scalia's Refusal to Quit Cheney Case." Welcome to Bizarro World. And Who Let The Dogs Out?
